Still cannot decide on a sensitivity for me

Best sensitivity for someone with unsteady wrists sometimes? I play hitscan mainly. I like Mccree and Widowmaker most. PC. I tried ranging from 800 eDPI to over 10000 eDPI. It feels either too fast or too slow. I also don’t know what grip or mouse to use. I own 8 mice or so and still can’t pick one. How do I know what is right for me? Also already did the psa method

Basically done 800 dpi with 1 in game ranging to 15 in game.

I basically just tested out which ones feel most comfortable to do a 180 turn.

Break every sensitivity that is too fast for you is half and you will eventually get to a sweet spot before it starts to feel too slow and brig it up with 1/4 when getting into the slow zone. You will eventually reach equilibrium.

Start like this: 100->50->25->12.5->6.25…

People sweat this way too much. I adopted Seagulls a long time ago (2.36 in-game, 1600 DPI, 500 hz polling) for baseline point-and-aim characters. Then raise it for characters that are more melee oriented (Doom, Tracer, Reaper, Rein, Brig, Winston, etc) or where aim is not as big an issue.

What you will find is sometimes a particular sensitivity “Feels right” past this baseline. Echo for is one that for whatever reason 2.50 works, but it would be too high for say McCree or Widow for me.

I agree with the “ease of 180” but I temper that with make a sharp turn and judge just how easily you can locate and track a target. If you hesitate at all, the sensitivity is too high.

This. Try looking for the lowest setting that lets you do this and stop fiddling with it once you find it.

That depends on the hero. If you are playing widow or any other long range hero, precision is more important than being able to turn around fast.

Even Widow players need to be able to be nimble and make sharp turns and, moreover, precision can be achieved at any sensitivity, even an absurdly high one, for wrist aiming is a thing.

I’d like to to add that I would vehemently advise against using different sensitivity settings for different heroes, even though it’s a thing as well.

i think most popular pro sense is 4000edpi.
the type of mousepad you use will also factor.
i use 4k on a slower zowie mouse pad. if i was using a faster steel series pad i would drop down to around 3k.

If you did psa method why not just use what you got from it?

pick your favorite. Play it. feels to fast drop a little, feels to slow raise it. hopping around aint doing you any favors. I started on 800 22 and now I play 800 4.5, ive played 13,9,3,6,2 but I found what felt the best and practiced it

What I did for mine cause I had the same problem years ago

  1. Fast 180 as the guys told u already
  2. To finetune it use a stable training bot and walk around it trying to maintain your crosshair on its head. Start closer and move away.

it impossible to give a correct answer because there are a million factors that determine a persons ideal sensitivity.
The type of mouse you use
The type of mouse feet the mouse has
the mouse pad you use, the material its made of
The sensor in the mouse
Your aiming style, tracker, flick, wrist, arm, etc
Wired or wireless mouse factors in as well.
Mouse weight
low or high sens preference
The grip you use, claw, palm, hybrid, fingertip, etc.
Even monitor refresh rate and input lag are factors.

Impossible to have a general answer for everyone.

In-game sensitivity is a personal thing that you have to find on your own imo. Finding what works for you depends on a lot of things like your mouse, mouse pad, in-game resolution, monitor resolution, seating/desk height, your hand size, aiming style (arm/wrist), role/hero choice etc.

For me with my particular setup (xtrfy m42 + SteelSeries Qck Large), I liked using either 800DPI @ 4.50 sens or 1200DPI @ 4.00 sens. But I’m 100% certain that those numbers will change if I switch my mouse or mousepad.

If you’re mainly a DPS player, I’d check out what the average eDPI is for OWL DPS players and start from there. For mouse DPI, I recommend trying out 800, 1000, 1200, 1600 or anywhere between that. I wouldn’t go higher than 1600 DPI or lower than 800 DPI personally. And then once you find the DPI that you like best, you can start testing for the sensitivity that suits you best.

Oh and this tool can also be helpful as well: https:// gamingsmart dot com/mouse-sensitivity-converter/overwatch/

If you happen to like the feeling of 800 DPI @ 5.00 sens, this tool lets you experiment to see how that feels on other DPIs. For example, 800 DPI @ 5.00 sens is equivalent to 1600 DPI @ 2.5 sens.
