Today my overwatch on steam suddenly can’t log in and appears bn-564 error code.

Same. Thought it was just me after I cleaned up some folders on my PC but apparently it’s on their end.

Surprisingly after another restart of the game I was able to connect to the server.
Same here, I tried again now and, while I got “Disconnected by Battlenet services” I was logged in after clicking “Log In” a couple of times
Having the same issue. According to blizzard, it is a console error that means the servers are down for maintenance. I am not playing on console and the servers are not down for maintenance

We were seeing reports across multiple titles of players being unable to login. Most of these were either recently purchased game licenses or newly created free game licenses. It is likely to have been the cause of the login errors you are reporting here for Overwatch 2.
The issue causing those login issues so you should be able to login normally if this was related to that particular issue. You may need to restart battle.net/steam or the console in order to login normally.
