To my knowledge, PC players using a controller have use of the aim assist functionality. However the Steam Deck does not provide aim assist, despite it being a controller with a screen. Regardless of the general opinion of aim assist options on PC, if PC players on controllers get the functionality, so should the Steam Deck.
