Steady High Ping in Overwatch Only

Hey guys,

For pretty much the entirety of my time playing Overatch, my ping has rested at around 50-60ms. Around a couple weeks ago, I noticed my ping was spiking to around 2-300 in the practice range, and around 450 in game with other players. I tried resetting my hardware, changing my DNS settings, re-installing both the game and the Blizzard client, and even contacted my ISP for help. My ISP (aTT) alerted me of a possible issue with my fiber cable, and I had a tech out here today to replace my modem/router, as well as the faulty cabeling. This has not resolved my issue. Ive included both a screenshot of my speed test, as well as results from the WinMTR. Im not sure what to do at this point. Something curious, my PING gets better when im connected to my VPN. Not sure why. But the gamer is basically unplayable to me. Thanks for your help.

Speedtest produces 373.81Mbps Download, 201.88Mbps Upload, and 3ms Ping

There’s actually some issues going on between AT&T in Florida and the Blizzard game servers. We’re tracking the issue and as far as we are aware AT&T is aware of it too.

ATT U-Verse Florida - Higher Latency at Peak Hours

I’ve had this internet connection without any issues for years. This just started 3 days ago. It seems to only happens at peak hours (Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday from 10am ET approx.). I played a few games very early in the morning without any issues whatsoever. I did a WinMTR test that I want you to take a look at to help me out a bit since I’m not very good at reading these things. As you discovered a VPN works around the issue, which tells you that the issue is in the route to the server. I’d just recommend to continue using the VPN for now until it clears up between AT&T and Blizzard.
