Statistically I hate half the maps

For me personally I can’t stand anything that isn’t hybrid or escort it’s the only game mode that makes sense and it’s engaging. Mirror maps are boring but necessary for fairness so I don’t care for control point but I get it as a core mode.
The fact that they not only add push, clash, and the absolute worst flashpoint and force you to play it honestly makes me shy away from playing the game at all. Like I even enjoy clash it’s fun and over fast even if it’s a mess but put it in QP or something. Just let people select the modes they want to play. Instead of making your devs make new terrible modes with new maps invest in making new maps we want to play. We aren’t bored cause game modes we are bored because the good ones are ignored and now only about half the available maps so it’s like 50/50 if you even want to play the game you get loaded in to.
It’s seriously the most baffling decision to me.

Everyone hates flashpoint, and push and then they come up with Runasapi (arguably the best push map) but everyone would have much preferred those developers made a new good mode map instead. Then instead of making more again there are now two clash maps when you could have made two more good maps.

My conspiracy theory is they don’t have the resources to make new maps so they are working laying around pve assets into new modes for pvp and it just isn’t working. The whole pve push was a loss and I think y’all need to scrap the stuff and just focus on your amazing core gameplay.

They won’t allow us to select modes like we select a role because they would then have to deal with the data proving they wanted hundreds of thousands of dollars on dev time on something no one wants.

It sounds like you play comp. Asking for map/mode selection in comp will never happen. This would require that people with the same map selection be matched together or it skews the SR ratings as you can choose modes that best suit the heroes you play (for example, if you play junk, reaper, etc. then Clash gives you an advantage as they are very strong there, symm on KoTH, etc.).

In QP they should introduce this since they allow map skipping already. It would make it better to not put people into maps they are always going to leave during team assembly anyway. This leaves the MM looking for another player quickly before the game starts. That is not ideal.

As far as I am concerned, Overwatch’s worst maps are better than Call of Duty’s best maps. If it sounds as if I am shilling, you have it all wrong. I believe the map design in Overwatch is relatively atrocious. It’s just that compared to what I am used to, this game is heaven.

I play all modes really. I don’t even think push, or flashpoint should be in comp at all, they do not belong there they are not competitively balanced or appropriate for ranked games to begin with. My suggestion is more about QP and then hoping that finally tells them with data what we have all been telling them for years, stop dumping into things we desperately do not want and instead into the things we desperately do want.

Not true, I don’t mind them and like suravasa quite a lot.

? How

Players took 2CP for granted it had some of the best maps in the game.

So push has a first fight advantage that can’t actually properly be overcome, so it ways very heavily on initial hero picks and can sway heavy into that after first fight, which all can, but it’s nature of being a mid point that goes back and forth with gather time inherently makes the team who wins first fight to have an advantage for the entire game.
For flashpoint or has to do with the randomness of spawn points and capture points not being even which is why do many games go the full amount of rounds there are advantages.
As for clash it gives artificial comback mechanics like slightly too much defenders advantage but it stacks with ult advantage so you are incentivized to lose specific fights, it’s just not good for competitive even though personally I really really like it.

As for no one liking flashpoint I was exaggerating, but that’s why I think we should get to choose our modes. At this point I have a mode I enjoy less than half the time I play, which statistically shouldn’t happen either.

You need to lay off the “we” and “all”. You don’t speak for everyone, and these forums are a tiny percent of the player-base. I would also guess that most people that do come here do so to complain and that those that don’t have anything to complain about just play the game.

“We” and “all” really means “some people on these forums” and “a tiny % of players that have voiced a negative opinion” and by no means is a representative sample.

I don’t like Flash and don’t like specific maps (Numbani, Havana, Circuit - widow maps mostly) but that’s just my opinion. I can’t expect them to change the game around me, which is something you do seem to expect.

If. you play comp you should be able to play all modes. That’s the only fair way to measure like-for-like. And lots of people do like Flash and Clash and Push so why would they take it away from them? Only if they were actually seeing it being disliked at the rate the old mode they removed was (assault?) should they consider it. But otherwise let those who enjoy those modes play them in comp.

For QP I think it’s different. They should provide a filter option on your account. I read an article today about someone playing CoD6 (or whatever it is called) and they weren’t enjoying it until they found the filter option to filter out modes. Then they started having more fun. That’s what QP should provide along with arcade modes - basically all modes except comp.
