Wasn’t sure if this would go here or not.

My idea basically is to allow people to have 1-3 Stat Resets, that can ONLY be used between seasons.

But Spaceduck, how do you decide who gets how many resets.

That would depend on the OW purchase they made.

Collectors Edition would get: 3

Origins: 2

GOTY/Standard: 1

So you want grandmasters to destroy bronze ranks?

At the surface it seems like a good idea, but if you look into it further its terrible. You will no longer play with people within your rank, but much higher or much lower. Have you ever played with a copper team?

My rank has nothing to do with this idea.

It wouldn’t be forced, and would be opt in, please keep your TROLL posts to yourself.

Because I would hate to see someone get a silence or Forum ban, because the urge to show there butt was too great.

I used to want this as well. Turns out buying a new account serves the same function.

My alt account placed Plat.

All a reset would do is create an absolutely wrecked season for everyone involved. People would be placing too high or too low because they’re facing off against people from every SR at the same time, and eventually by the time they all settle back into their ranks, they would be asking for another reset.

They did this back between seasons 1 and 2 and everyone complained about it.

Yeah this is literally just letting people buy 3-4 smurfs in one.

Wait for sale. Buy Origins edition at $30. Place bronze. Smurf up for a season. Reset. Place bronze. And so on.

Horrible idea overall, stats resets don’t do anything other than put the matchmaker into more confusion.

I’d pay more than $10 for an SR reset. Seriously. I get that trolls and smurfs would be an issue but as someone who struggled to leave bronze, got silver, and then plummeted back down to less than 1000, trolls and smurfs are ALREADY an issue. Really I just want to be able to play comp with my friends again, and an SR reset would let me do that.

Yeah I’ve considered that and it’s tempting but I’m also a cosmetic collector and I’d much rather have a way to reset my SR than buy a new account.

Thats why blizzard will never do it. Because then people wouldnt buy new accounts

Just pay 20 more and you could get one by buying a account. (If you can’t place higher then it means you are where you deserve to be)

I have no intention of smurfing, I just think that we should be allowed the option (with a numerical limit to how many times per account) we can reset our MMR.

And to the troll asking how someone places in Bronze, it’s called doing comp while you were brand new to the game, and for me FPS shooters in general.

But I digress I am not one of these kids saying I don’t deserve my rank, but I would like my placement matches to actually do something again. Last season I went 7-3 in my placements…it put me in Mid Bronze. Perhaps if I had fresh stats it would have placed me in Silver instead, who knows.

We should be able to opt in, or out of it is all I’am saying.

We shouldn’t have to buy new accounts to see how we actually do.

It sounds like a good idea but…

  • Resets are usually an issue in most competitive games, for various reasons.
  • Also, I don’t agree with the number of resets you can get based on the game’s edition…I was lucky to get my hands on a Collector’s edition on release, but we are only two in my group of friends who have it. And they are not available for purchase anymore. But people could still just buy the game again, and again, and again, to get more resets anyway.
  • I was placed Low Silver, then Bronze in my second and third seasons. I stayed there for a while. Then stopped competitive. Took the time to practice new heroes, get better at the game and the last season I played I started 100points away from Gold. So not rushing into comp is an option.
  • Your climb is highly affected by your team play. Are you aware of your positioning? As a support or tank, are you doing your job properly? Do you do objectives? Is your team full of throwers and leavers? These two won’t vanish because of resets…

I am not sure if Blizzard will to hard reset. They actually did on S2, and Effect got placed in Plat lol.
