The Battle Launcher works really slow on my PC, takes about 5 minutes to load, it getting stuck, it crashes, so I don’t want to use it. How do I start Overwatch without using this buggy piece of software? I’M OFFICIALLY DONE WITH IT!

There should be no reason why the BattleNet App Launcher should take a long time to load on virtually any PC setup. You may want to consider doing a full uninstall of the app launcher and make sure to clear out any residual files. These steps will help:
Please NOT THIS AGAIN! I’ve contacted support, tried everything, I literally SPEND HOURS trying to fix this issue. This simply DOESN’T WORK as intended, so, can you please tell me how to avoid using it?
Try running the overwatch launcher.exe executuable from the installed files on your C:/Program Files (x86)/. However, you may find difficulty with signing back in if you ever disconnect from the game. That is what the app launcher is for.

I would better spend 1 minute logging-in everytime instead of having to deal with the app launcher ever again. Thanks for support.

It’s okay, this thread is 9 months old, so they have likely moved on from this issue. Try to be mindful of the date when responding to avoid necrobumping threads.
Hopping on this old thread to say that I would love a way to launch Overwatch without the Blizzard launcher. Right now I’m waiting for an upgrade for a game I no longer want, but can’t uninstall (separate issue), and because of that I can’t launch the game I actually want to play.
I’d actually love to be able to start Overwatch by clicking on the OW shortcut. Otherwise we pretty much have 2 shortcuts for the launcher, it doesn’t make any sense. Instead of launching updates in the Battle.net launcher download and install them while loading the game. Other companies do that already and it shouldn’t be any difficulties by doing the same thing for Overwatch (and Overwatch 2 when it comes out)

I use the bnetlauncher in order to start Overwatch directly. It still uses battle.net, but just directly starts Overwatch .
