It’s all just pure randomness in pure chaos.
There are too many modifiers and variables for us to even remember them all. And no counter-picks!
Do you really expect all of that to be balanced? It’s like, someone can create an overpowered hero, but without counter-picks, there’s no guarantee the other team will have a hero to balance it out.
Considering we can’t counter-pick and need wins for better builds, this situation just won’t ever lead to balance.
Yeah, it doesn’t really need to be balanced though, it’s just a fun mode anyway. It’s not serious and trying to take it as such would lead to a bad time.
I brought up this same point during a popular streamers Twitch stream, about it being unbalanced, and how that would lead to its downfall.
Everyone jumped on the Balance doesn’t equal fun, so don’t worry about balance bandwagon.
I said, let’s revisit this topic a month from now, I want to see what all the doubters have to say about balance not mattering when there is an obvious meta hero and build that dominates Stadium and there is no way of banning that said hero.
I wonder if they will still think it’s wacky and fun when it’s the same oppressive unbalanced hero ruining their games every match?
Yeah it feels braindead and very casual. In OW1, everything was so transparent and thus I could somehow calculate my/enemies’ damage, healing and etc. precisely and make a decision based on that.
It’s no more a thing for tanks when OW2 was released, because of such passives. Then S9 patch also twisted HP and even more passives. Then, perks made it even worse. Now in stadium, tons of passives and I can’t calculate anything. Pew pew endlessly without thinking like in Diablo.
I find it fun, because I like Diablo but it doesn’t feel like OW.
True, and new heroes each season. So maybe it works itself out. Personally I think things need some balance to be fun. But maybe that’s just me. Maybe everyone who plays Stadium will enjoy it’s crazy unbalanced formula
