Is over 20 minutes!
And the matches I’ve been getting are extremely lopsided. I check peoples’ profiles after the match and half the people in the lobby are in contender or lower when I’m in Pro. What’s the point of climbing in stadium if I’m playing with people who have either barely played the mode or haven’t been able to climb more?
It feels like the matchmaker is just throwing games together so there are games instead of making quality games. If I have to wait in queue 20 minutes per match, it shouldn’t be giving me 6 one-sided smashes in a row.

Imagine how much worse they would be if they weren’t 20 minutes though.
Lol and they want to add a second queue. Just make it cross play already the numbers are already too low.
That’s not going to improve the quality of the matchmaking. It will probably shorten queue times (maybe) so that you can get to your next lopsided 30 minute game faster though.
The shorter queue time is a direct result of better matchmaking because the matchmaker can find players of similar MMR easier, since there’s more to choose from.
The reason matchmaking is so long is because it keeps widening the criteria (for dps/tank) until eventually it literally gives up and decides to match a 6 stack top 500 with a solo queue bottom 500… So yes, crossplay will improve things.
The other issue, which Blizzard have not recognized is that they simply added too many supports relative to dps. They also added a lot of the more popular supports at launch.
They should focus on adding dps and diversifying that role for the next 2-3 seasons.
Adding Zenyatta next season is not going to help…
And thinking that the MMR translates equally from console to PC is where you went wrong.
Doesn’t matter regardless as long as it translates to faster queue times. Matchmaking will always be awful with smurfs and ximmers about.
I’d rather have a 1 min queue for a bad match than 20 minutes for an equally bad one.

I don’t think it’d be that dramatic of a drop, and you’re assuming the matches are only “equally bad” and not significantly worse. That might be the case, but I’d bet for Snurt, who’s already playing in a higher tier, those games will be worse.
Well my assumptions are based on personal experience, in the sense matchmaking cannot get any worse for me.
I went 4 matches yesterday without winning a single round lol…

I mean I would prefer a quality game over a worse game, even if I have to wait longer.
The problem is this. The matchmaker gives up and makes a crappy game once you wait so long and that’s just what queuing support is like in Pro. The only benefit is these matches tend to drop you less rank for losses but you still level up the same if you win.
These games are almost always one-sided (or you get a random leaver in the third round after you won the first 3) and I somehow always come out on the losing side per my 8 game losing streak where I only dropped one division back into Elite 1 and gained all of it back in 2 wins. Trying to grind to all star feels like a huge hurdle when it would be a lot easier if I was playing with people who were in the same division (or at least close) as mine.
See this is why I don’t care about climbing in Stadium. I’m in there for shenanigans.

I don’t care about climbing per se, I just want the Juno skin and I don’t want to have to pull teeth to get it lol

Stopped playing shortly after it came out; not because it wasnt fun or interesting but because queue times outside of the freelo was insane.

Everyone is playing support. Its rare when you get a TRUE support (someone who supports the team). I’ve seen so many games, in a row, where both the support (especially a juno and kirko) just go straight dps (but not get the elims). And of course lose the game.
I am a true support player. I play to win, not troll. But lately seeing these wait times I’ll log in as dps… play a few games… and remember… oh thats why I play support…
Its not that dps sucks but rather its hard to build around 2 support players (on your team) who literally build for themself to troll.
Personally if I wanted to “dps”… i rather just queue up as… dps role but whatever.

You assume there will be more dps and tank than support on consoles. If it’s not, cross play will just add more support players to the pool making support queue even longer
