If you play against any sort of beam team comp in the early game it is probably guaranteed that you will be spawn camped if your teammates are playing sub optimal Heroes. All of Sigma’s useful modifiers that you would want to chose don’t do enough to stop the onslaught of abilities that can block and hinder you from playing the game. It doesn’t help that Sigma is one of the slowest tanks in the game.
One solution for his lack of agency is to reduce his cooldowns in Stadium by 1 or 2 seconds.
The other solution is to rework the base modifiers to give 10% cooldown reduction instead of the meager 5% they currently give him for the early game. “Containment Field” and “Beam Splitter” modifiers both need to give Sigma at least 5% move speed buff while his abilities are active so he can at least attempt to escape a Mei/Zarya/Moira/zen wombo combo alive.
Now onto His powers.
Here are some fun powers I came up with that I think would be cool to implement to help against a full counter comp.
- A “Kinetic Grasp” power that slows and pulls players towards Sigma on the ground or air.
- A “Solid Shield” power that has reduced size, but acts as a yo yo that sigma can push and retract about 10-15m to push enemies away from him.
- A power that allows his Hyperspheres to bypass barriers but at 50% reduced Attack Power.
- Sigma needs his “Levitation” perk as a passive for Stadium and the “Zero Gravity” power should just be to double the duration of it.
