Stadium Powers are poorly distributed

I don’t think the 4th power should be tied to Round 7. That round has a small probability of ever happening.

A better alternative:

  • start the game with 2 powers
  • give an additional power at round 3 then at round 5

This guarantees a full build in pretty much every game.

In MOBAs, people usually finish their builds or at least unlock all major items in every match.

In Stadium, finishing a build is the exception, not the rule.
Reaching round 7 is RNG and is very tied to the matchmaker.

Also, giving 2 powers at round 1 helps make Stadium feel very different from Standard OW right away. Unlike the current slow start of the games.

I love the idea; however, I believe the first round is supposed to feel like a pistol round, for lack of a better term. They do not want you having a unique build early on. Maybe instead you get two powers at round 3. Or, I guess maybe round 2 could have one and round 3 the other, but I assume they want to keep it all odd so that it’s easy to keep track of. Either way, I do agree that having the fourth power be based on rng is lame.

Yeah reaching the final match is actually quite difficult so I’m not opposed to adding in something to help with reaching the 4th power a bit faster.

In the alpha version we actually were reaching level 7 a lot more frequently. But this was due to both the larger mercy rule and the devs telling us to win trade in order to reach round 7 so they could get data and have players experience what it’s like to have all 4 powers.


I’m not necessarily for or against the idea. However, I have no problem right now with having the 4th power only available on the last round as a form of Hail Mary to decide who wins. I don’t think people are supposed to be reaching round 7 and the 4th power that often, so to me it feels better to be given the last power on the most important game deciding match.
