when i have all star, why i cant play with friends in party when they have rank lowest than elite/pro, but anyway in matchmaking i play with teammates who never play this game or have rank rookie/novice/contender in any role? 33% (1/3) of all games i played with people who literally dont understand what to do and what happening in this game mode, but cant play with friends who have higher rank than my teammates, why? what is this
It’s based on MMR. And your rank and MMR aren’t aligned yet like normal ranked.
So, the badge doesn’t really mean a lot in this respect atm
if it based on mmr. also. i dont understand why when i have plat/diamond i have gold and master players in the same lobby when noone playing in party?
Without seeing said accounts. I don’t know.
Can only talk in hypotheticals
It is based on Stadium MMR, it has it’s own separate pool. So a Masters player jumping in for the first time, and a noob playing Overwatch for the first time have the same Stadium MMR. Which does mean that until you establish MMR you’re going to get some wild games. Once you have played for a while and have enough games to have a real MMR you will start getting matched with people around your level and games will stop being swingy.
This is going to improve a bit with the new season when people are forced to play however many Staidum QP games before playing in the ranked queue. You will also go up in rank quicker to what your expected rank is. Which should in theory get you into more consistent games quicker.
