I’ve tried playing this mode tonight and four, yes. FOUR. of my matches have had leavers. Another one had a guy throw because he “doesn’t like playing against zarya and doesn’t care because this isn’t main comp”. 5 matches down the drain completely out of my control because people who don’t care about comp are funneled into a comp-only mode.

- Three rounds .
- No stadium announcer.
- First round would only be Hybrid, Escort & Flashpoint. The other two can be other modes
- It would have quicker play rules.
- First round player can get two powers and second round another two powers.

Just wanted to update. We are now at SIX matches with leavers since the launch of Stadium. I am still in Rookie 3 on a hero I have a 75% winrate on in regular comp because I have had about 5 fair matches in total.
This is bogus. What a silly waste of time for an otherwise great addition to the game.
Just give us Stadium with AI bots.
And I’ll grind every battle pass they sell.

Stadium has an identity problem. Best of 7 with lots of moba elements lends itself to competitive. But it’s also kinda wacky with all the crazy abilities which lends itself to a more casual vibe.
Either way, long matches with leavers ruining for everyone else was inevitable, so I’m shocked they went with competitive rule sets.
Definitely should have been quick play only with the ability to backfill in my opinion

Nah it doesn’t, and I’m a qp warrior. The player base is so split rn with the amount of modes you can play. Queue times have taken a pretty big hit it feels, last thing we need is another mode

Leavers get comp-banned for the season after 5 desertions, so they are on a very short leash. Better start getting those extra alt-account if you are one of these.

Can someone explain the logic in here? You think people will leave less when it’s not comp? Just because the enemy has (whoever) on their team. Suddenly, since it’s QP they’ll stay? Nah.
Keep it in ranked. Let the idiots leave a handful of matches and get season banned. The cereal leavers aren’t there to “try a new mode” they just want to win.

Comp does promote hyper-competitiveness, but you can still play it semi-seriously with friends without going toxic-rage-fest. If you win, you get 10 comp points for that next fancy weapon skin.
Yes, this. If leavers are your problem, then the severe, fast accruing leaver penalities of ranked is what you want.

A QP mode would have been neat, but the length of a typical match requires a commitment of time that’s antithetical to QP format. Especially with the amount of serial leavers and poor sport throwers that occupy QP.

If the matchmaker was anything but this trash, people would be around longer. Instead people trying to punish the symptom instead of the disease. The matchmaker is atrociously bad in this game that people DO NOT WANT TO STAY IN TRASH MATCHUPS. They do not want to get stomped, they do not want to be stuck in an endless string of losses, and they also do not want to have enormous amounts of dead easy wins. If someone leaves, it is because of Blizzard’s ineptitude to fix the matchmaker. But keep punishing people on top of the trash matches, because with we even less people in the pool, the quality of the matches will sink even further.

This is honestly something I’m somewhat enjoying. I’m a QP warrior normally, but even that has been ruined by Soj, Ana, and a few other busted heroes.
Stadium is pretty fun, it’s goofy, and you can adjust your build to suit the match. Maybe sometimes you need more survivability, but the next round you can switch to a damage-focus with your items. I don’t take the mode seriously at all and have a lot of fun with it as a result. Plus… free comp points from a win!
(I do hope they nerf JQ though)
