Stadium matchmaking is so BAD
It needs to be fixed ASAP
Like how is it fair to get silver 5 dps on my team and diamond 3 dps on enemy team or bronze support in my team and diamond/masters tank and dps on enemy team (I am not joking. These 2 examples are what happened to me). It feels like its a quick play matchmaking if not worse. I am high gold to mid plat player (depends on role) so I should play with and against players around the same range not playing with bronzes or masters…
It’s the same matching as normal ranked. Except there’s no group restrictions.
I’m low gold for tank/dps and low plat for support. Every single game (and ive played probably 100 this week) has had at least 3 masters players on the opposite team, while my team is high silver/low gold. There needs to be some kind of balance for the matchmaking, or people will just quit playing. Im already considering making this my last season (and ive been playing since day 1 of OW1) just because of the garbage matchmaking system
It’s a NEW experience for all. NO one has a rank yet. This is why. Give it time. everyone will be in there right rank soon enough.
I think the issue seems to be Solo queuing vs stacks, my match experience is horrible when solo queuing, alternatively its a better experience when in a group/duo.
I think it comes down to communication, when I’m with a friend we discuss builds, coordinate etc. Solo there is no such thing, even though I’m in coms and try to communicate, make calls, nothing. only flaming in text. and is clearly obvious solo facing a stack. is the co ordination. target focus, ability timing and synchronization. really makes this mode feel more so than other modes. more oppressive. on top of when it co ordinated abuse of heroes like unkillable soldier just running at your team, or Mei.
MMR has nothing to do with this as match maker while can know if stacked or not, cant predict co ordination. You also cant just tell the player base to simply find friends and not provide a suitable way to do so. or somehow prohibit all methods of co-ordination,
perhaps a solo only-que option for those that want a better match experience at a longer cue time.
I’m high gold too. My enemy teams are Diamond - Grandmaster. I guess they haven’t ranked out of my rank yet or does it not care about the rank? I have no idea how it’s making matches, but it sucks.
