Stadium be like:

Want to be a good teamplayer and pick Rein. Enemy has Orisa and Mei, so already two less favorable Rein picks. Pick the Bap-window shield so team can shoot through it. Mei picks the stupid rolling ball and Orisa deflects fire strikes. I’m stuck with this, not being able to switch while Soldier with 24/7 Mercy pocket refuses to shoot through my shield and keep crying “tank diff”.
Stadium is just like tanking in 5v5, only you can’t swap to counter anything.

Yeah, Rein feels like you have to completely redo your build depending on your team and the enemy team.

Bap Window first is a trap because you have no information on how your team will play with you yet. Against Orisa its tough but I have a bit more success going a full melee hammer time build since she’s forced to play in your range and doesn’t damage you enough against your lifesteal.

Also Ice Ball is Mei’s only viable build from what I’ve seen. I’ve tried things with her guns but they’re all just worse than anything that the hitscans can do.

Stop playing for your team and play for you, main thing ive learned. Was making kiri builds to support the team and heal. I lost every single game. Went full damage with exploding kunai, and a little healing with the suzu buffs, did less, But i got more kills and won. First try with the damage build. Literally 6 losses in a row before.

Play for you, for real. Because everyone else is, especially in the low ranks.

When I pick Mei in Stadium, I still use my Rein’s shield for the damage amp.

That headshot becomes an instakill. :triumph: feelsgoodman

Team synergy feels like such a toss-up. I had a Zarya say I was throwing on Juno for not healing him, despite me actually healing him and at one point pocketing him. Then just said the most visceral crap to me in that match, then in match chat said I’m trash, etc.

Some people are really, really dumb in that mode. If you ever wanna queue up, lmk. I don’t mind supporting you on DPS or on support.

Stadium seems to have one big rule: GO GLASS CANNON.

The more damage or heals you deal, the better your monetary rewards to get bigger upgrades.

So yeah, don’t go defensive support unless you are in a full stack with voice comms and a full team build in mind.

switch off all comms…team, match, group, voice—play the game…have fun

That’s the issue IMO.

Sustain builds don’t matter when certain things just kill you through them regardless.

Juno with only ability damage + torpedos, Soldier with the tac visor ability + weapon power/speed, Cass with weapon power, Zarya with power + bubble abilities…

I’m hoping the nerfs that they’re bringing soon will help address that. It’s supposed to be that you can be at a disadvantage against counters, but still have more flexibility. Right now, they’re getting countered significantly harder, so they haven’t accomplished that yet.

Tbh that perk is a trap in most games. The maps have insane high ground and side angles within falloff range: Soldier, Cass, and Ashe should be playing them.

I played one game of arena, we won 3:0, but I was bored to death…too long…too many breaks…too many everything…not my cup of tea…if others love this, I am happy for them, but I will never touch it again…

Wait are you telling me that once again Blizz made defenses and teamwork almost unviable in their game outside of high ranks, in favor of unga bunga more damage being king?

Nah, I cant believe it!

Never thought of it that way. I have been doing builds to compliment my team.

I wouldnt say that, if you have teamwork in this mode with actual comms, it beats anything you can put together. A build for you is cool, but a whole team building towards one goal and they are all playing in mind of that goal is waaaay better than unga bunga dmg.
