Srsly, Blizzard, make Junkenstein’s Laboratory permanent

I’m sick of all of this FOMO garbage. I uninstalled the game last season because there’s only so much Horse and Orb torture I can take as a Tank player, and 6V6 and Phreaky aren’t happening till next season, so there’s no point to reinstall right now.

But I’ve heard mostly good things about this mode, which hasn’t happened for this game in YEARS, so much so that the devs actually balanced it, something I don’t think they’ve done for any other seasonal game mode.

So just add it permanently, people clearly like it because it’s different, because it’s wacky and whatever.

The only criticism I have heard is that you can’t counter swap at all, so games can be won or lost in the hero selection screen, depending on who has a Pharah or not.

So here’s an idea; what if we could fight against hordes of NPCs, where the actual players can switch their characters and skills at their own leisure, and the AI isn’t going to complain about it on the forums. We can call it Overwatch 3, and we can take all of the PvP staff, force them to space away over PvE, while we stop updating the original game entirely for 3 years, before releasing some churned out slop we call PvP, promise to release the PvE later, and then just don’t Phreaking bother. Yes, I’m still mad, and this hill will start eroding by the time I die on it.

Um… The Mutation mode is literally just this. It actually makes Reinhardt lowkey a little unfun. Especially once you throw Pharah into the mix.

It’s a fun gamemode, so very likely it will soon be gone forever.

I still miss the OW1 PVE events.

Yeah, well that’s the dev’s fault for putting someone as fun syphoning as ORISA into literally any game mode ever.

That’s like putting Sombra into a temporary game mode, who the actual Hell wants that?

But like, Reinhardt must have some good things, right? Provided the Pharah gets grounded by 2 hit-scan the entire game.

It’s a limited time event like all the others, this is nothing new. It will likely come back next year if not sooner. Download the game and play it if you want to play it.

There’s a kiri built where she gives attack speed on both the suzu and heals. On top of kitsune rush it’s really awesome for reinhardt.
Played around with that in some custom games.

another Problem is the limited hero selection.

but other then those two its apperently a very popular mode. 15% of all players are playing this mode, dispite having no good rewards, meaning its generally a fun mode which people enjoy.
Considering its 15% I would guess that they will expand on it in the future.

I hope they add more heroes to it for next year. 2 in supports and tank, 3 in dps (at least)
It’d be fun figuring out new builds.

I’ve been happy with it. Since it actually feels like content being released.

I’d love if they put it into the arcade, and just kept adding characters to the roster, and opening up other maps to it.

It seems a bit of a waste to go through the effort of programming something, just to hide it away for another year…IMHO.

Yeah I rarely play this mode, but the last two years the devs have whiffed on a lot of events.

Devs, you finally got a hit that is fun.

Why limit fun?

Ow 2 desperately needs modes like this to stay and expand.

“Where should we throw the carcass this time? Next to experimental, hero gauntlet or the PVE missons?”

Yeah, I miss the “Archive Missions” from OW1, they used to come every year during the “Anniversary Event”, but Blizzard just abandoned it for OW2.

Yeah, i played retribution non stop every time it was up. It was so much fun farming lootboxes that way.

Exactly, sometimes I just like to relax and mindlessly shoot A.I. bots in PvE modes, without the stress of PvP where I’m forced to “tryhard” so I’m not a detriment to my team.

Plus the Archive Missions had an “All Hero” mode (unlike the paid “Invasion” PvE), so I could practice new/different heroes in a chill environment.

It even gave you more of a reason to play arcade. Even the challenge versions of those missions added a neat tweak to the gameplay that kept it fresh. Even if it was just enemies dropping molten lava or spreading a rage virus.

Plus you could try jank comps and have fun. I liked playing Doomfist on retribution just to see how long I can survive on his temporary shields and getting better with each run.

Playing Orisa, Echo, Baptiste and Zen on Legendary and mowing down the gunners with superchargers, amp matrix and discord was very cathartic with friends

I’d be happy if they even just kept it for the remainder of the season.

I was actually kind of excited at first, just thinking it was going to be the basic junkensteins modes, but with a few talents for some of the heroes. Then I find out it’s PvP only…

Seriously Blizzard, add in another permanent PvE mission, with a decent selection of heroes to choose from and give each hero a few talents to choose from, and don’t paywall it. It will be much more popular and for way longer than the PvE missions you released with very limited hero selections and 0 talents for $20 or whatever it was.
