I know Jeff released rank distribution in February, but is there anyway that Blizzard can release a live or frequently updated chart of rank distribution with more significantly figures? More specifically, I would like to see top 500 is top 0.xxx% of the player base of a server.
Even if it’s not possible/feasible to create an updated SR distribution chart, any updated stats would be much appreciated!
We have no reason to expect it to be any different. As for percent that is top 500, that’d be directly based on the number of players in the game, which Blizzard will likely not release the information for.
I’ve seen the official numbers released twice, a year apart. They were basically identical. No reason to believe it’s not the same.
Probably has hardly changed, with the majority of the playerbase lying in the gold-plat range (I believe on PC the 50th percentile lies around mid to high gold, while on console it’s around low to mid plat).
Top 500 is a set number of people. It’s less of a tier and more of an extension of grandmaster (essentially the most consistent players in GM who have climbed to the top). In fact, if there were not enough people in GM, theoretically masters players could be top 500 (probably a bad sign for the game if it were to happen in a populous region, but I imagine it could possibly happen in the Australia/Oceania region).
