Squelch all chat option?

So, on my main account, this game is completely unplayable for me unless I block all chat, including voice chat. For some reason, there are many individuals who like to tell me to “kill myself”, and suggest that I perform impossible sexual acts, and call me every name in the book for inexplicable reasons, completely unprovoked and unmitigated, simply because I have a 5 star diamond border.

I discovered that playing in complete silence not only helps me play better, but I don’t feel like absolute doo-doo while playing anymore. The only issue is I’m forced to right click 11 times to select “Squelch Chat” 11 times. That seems unnecessary if there was a Squelch All Chat feature. I imagine implementation of this would be fairly easy, surprised that it’s not in the game.

Oh, wow? That is missing? I am on console, so we don’t even get the ability to individually squelch chat.

I’m not familiar with the controls on console, do you just get the option to join voice or not? I don’t imagine there’s many people typing on console, unless they have Xim or whatever installed. Can you even type to people on console?

Nah, but people can spam thanks and understood 24/7 which is annoying as hell and I wish I could “mute” them from doing it.

But yeah, you just have voice for your team and that is it, no typing or interacting with enemies unless you send them a message via psn or Xbox live.

There definitely is a “squelch team chat” and “squelch match chat” for the text chats and you can leave the voice chat as well. It should all be in the same menu that you use to squelch the players manually. I think it’s a blue and orange speech bubble somewhere on there.

Yeah, that is annoying… I don’t get why this game is filled with so many ways to instigate and troll other people, with very few ways to do anything about it other than blocking off all communications. And I’m sure by doing that, there are those people who report you for not being in chat, believing you’re throwing. It’s a lose/lose situation, but the amount of harassment I receive is unbelievable, I’d rather play in the vacuum of space.

While there is no Default Off option for text chat, you can manually turn text chat off once you load into your first game.

Just go into Social > Groups, and from there just click the little chat bubbles on the left inside the blue and orange tabs for Team Chat and Match Chat.

And no, console has no “Squelch Chat” option to save you from voice line spamming… though atleast you can block incoming messages by default in your personal Ps4/Xbox settings.

Also for PC, if you want to turn chat off entirely, just type in /hidechat and it will hide the entire chat box, hiding everything from text chat to communication wheel features such as “Hello!” or “I need healing!” messages…

I really really want a permanent squelch all chat and permanent leave global chat. The only thing I want on is group text chat and I don’t want to have to redo it every single game.

I didn’t know that, thank you. That might even be more useful, I’d get like 1/15th of my screen back

Why is this not a thing yet? Most people abuse the voice lines instead of using them to their teams advantage. As a support player, every single game someone decides to spam “i need healing” for no reason. I’m refusing to manually mute them spammers, neither do I want to hide chat.

We can leave team chat, game chat, group chat and voice chat but we are not able to mute voice lines in settings?
