Spotify Web Player causes Microstutter

Hey Blizzard, just wanted to submit a fresh bug report. I’ve seen this posted on Reddit and a few other spots, but it’s not a huge issue, just a compatibility problem with two of my favorite services. The summary is this, while the Spotify Web Player is open Overwatch microstutters every few seconds in game, causing delay of input and just generally being annoying. I’ve created a highlight on my Twitch channel for your help on the issue as well as showing off what the issue is.

Specs:

  • Intel i7-8700K @ 3.7 GHz
  • 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3KHz RAM
  • ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming LGA1151
  • EVGA 2080 RTX SC 8GB
  • Windows 10 Home 64-bit

There is nothing that can be done about this, if Overwatch is fine while not using a web browser player then your complaint is moot. System resources are being spent elsewhere causing your problem.

Only thing you can do is either use another web browser, or the Spotify desktop app itself.
