Split gate 2 is revving up and is probably going to be the one to take the pvp movement shooter population from all other games.
Also before people say split gate 1 failed it didn’t, it was a college project, so when it got funded they went to the drawing board and made all the necessary things for a proper PvP experience at large scale and it’s going to come in and smash other shooters.
Overwatch since season 9 has started alienating aim mechanics, movement expression, basically a proper movement shooter experience that many got from the game.
Given apex shot itself in the foot like ow 2, I think people are going to a game thats offering them that experience and properly.
Honestly ow2 has great potential as life sim game they are really missing out, they should pivot hard.
Last few months have been too rough for movement shooters in ow, like I will never totally abandon tracer and hanzo but current state is just not fun gameplay loop or skill expression.
Like both are very strong but their more natural flow and feel of gameplay has gone, hanzo lost way more than that too.
It’s just something fresh which had potential already could probably attract us.
Except this game was already successful and has solid gameplay loop, like it won’t have ow or valorant numbers, but it will get all the movement shooter fans in a place like from ow2 , infinite even apex and titanfall2.
Also Concord and finals failed not cause the core wasn’t good but the way they made modes as well in concords case all the restrictions like paywall and psn accounts killed it.
Ow1 charged cause of blizz rep and the game was fantastic and hyped for a year and plus.
These people had no such hype cycle and still charged premium and made psn account compulsory.
The games was more of a portal simulator, rather than movement shooter. The Finals is also a movement shooter, while being low beneath Apex, Overwatch and Valorant. So i’d say that there is a huge chance SG2 will either flop, or become too niche to be as successful as any of those you mentioned.
The fact is, you are are yet again praising a game, that you have 0 information about, just to repeatedly complain about OW2.
Game still seems to be doing ok though, given the fact that its 8 years old, with multiple aaa competition on marked such as Apex and Valorant.
OW will never be as successful, not because you think its bad, but because when it came out, it was (aside of tf2) pretty much first of its kind.
What? When concord was announced few months back, there was literally no information about it, aside of a cinematic and few gameplay showcases.
Im yapping about the fact, that it didnt stop you from going on these forums, and start wishing for Concord to be competition for overwatch, so you can keep saying '‘because overwatch sucks, and here is why…’.
Same thing about Splitgate2. There is literally no information about the game yet (aside steam describtion portraing it as another portal simulator), yet you go on these forums with that ''Look guys! Another (wannabe) game, that will steal players from x,x,overwatch,x games, because of its movement. Like how do you even know there’s gonna be more movement options aside of portals, and slide ability, which is common in almost all new age shooters?
Splitgate 1 was honestly fun but it got stale really fast… probably because everyone looked the same. If these people in the trailer are supposed to be heroes they look generic AF lol.
