Well, the lack of wait times in competitive mode already speaks enough.
Even in QP if you try to backfill it is usually into a tank.
I find his opinion interesting. and his solution isn’t wrong since he has decided we are staying in 5v5. but technically speaking going back to 6v6 would also solve this problem because you can share that pain and overlap defenses with another tank. I feel the need to point that out only because he dismissed the idea out of hand despite the fact that it would work
Very good take by Spilo on why tank is powerful role but no one actually wants to play it. You suffer so others can have fun. While it works and wins games - it can feel very boring to play when enemies just want to counterpick you whole game.
I pretty much exclusively duo queue nowadays so I can at least have more control over those issues. If I decide to play Winston I want to have dps who will dive with me. If I want to play brawl then maybe friendly Kiriko or Ana that I can count on elievates a lot of frustrations. Solo queue tank is miserable.
