At least for me. A top500 coach that understands that you are silver and does not expect you to deliver on his own level, does not expect you to have his mechanics or knowledge of the game.
The guy just points at obvious things. I wish he was more popular than Flats and seagull, seriously. Spilo gives tips that actually apply to your current rank.

And so far, I think he is the best one to explain the tanking issue.
The problem is not that tanks are weak (even though in certain circumstances, they are). The problem is that how tanks create value is very boring compared to other roles. Taking Spiloās example, you go winston, then the enemy takes reaper and bastion with a clear goal to cancel you. What you can do is to do soft dives, get your shield destroyed, and then reposition. That creates huge value for your team, because the enemy dps is busy shooting a flying target and a shield, so your dps can shoot freely now. You create huge value, but itās just not fun. Or you can stop playing monkey, and this is also boring because people donāt like being forced to switch THAT often.
Now letās say you are an Ashe DPS. How do you get the most value? You shoot targets, you reposition, you fire their faces with a dynamite, you call Bob and kill them all.
How you create value with Ana? You nade the enemy and they get completely destroyed in a matter of second. Itās just more fun to play the other roles.
While dps and support have fantastic kit to have fun, tanks are not allowed. In some cases, you canāt even play your favourite tank simply because the enemy has 2-3 dudes counter-picking only you. And if your team is not doing the same, the game experience becomes very frustrating.
You can still climb on tanks, you can still be useful, but itās just boring.
