For veterans with 50k+ white credits
More hero gallery items owned = more likely to pull shop items instead since duplicates are prevented
Start with all the legendaries, then the epics, and so on. Even the lower tier items this is worth doing since you can exhaust the full item pool and get duplicates again (which award bonus lootboxes once you get enough) and since owning smaller items will discount any shop bundles containing them
Arguably, you can get a crap ton of cheap cosmetics with credits so anything you roll will be the nice stuff from the gallery or shop content.
Personally, I’d get the items I really want with credits just so I’m not depending on luck to get it, then go with cheap filler. And I would open all my boxes at the end of the season.
I’m just happy to get base character voicelines and sprays again, I haven’t thought about them nearly as much since OW2 because they weren’t prominent anymore
I wonder if the “your lootbox contents are set at acquisition” rule still applies.
Cause AFAIK they straight up said “no dupes” and don’t have a compensation in place… so do we need to claim it all BEFORE we acquire the boxes?
Was wondering the same. I think I’m gonna just spend an hour buying stuff with legacy credits before I queue up, just in case.
Good question on that one. I imagine boxes you obtain after other boxes account for what the previous boxes you own rolled, but as for how it interacts with stuff you bought after obtaining the box? We’ll never know if you don’t get a duplicate!
… I should get off my decrepit butt and spend my legacy credits cause it’s pretty obvious they’re never giving us anything good for them…
Which will probably IMMEDIATELY cause them to make a 1:1 exchange system but then I guess I’ll tell the rest of the player base “you’re welcome”.
To be fair, the legacy credits were always good for getting new characters souped-up with sprays, voicelines, highlight intros, and emotes(as well as souvenirs and weapon charms if you care). They just stopped being used for skins.

Only had enough credits to buy up the old blue skins for 25c I never got before and most the 25c voice-lines. So at least those are out of the way for the most part. I realized I need to do this after opening my first box and getting one of the blue skins for Echo I never got before. Got the legendary Lifeguard Pharah on my 2nd box so it’s good to know the system works.
Thinking about what to use the credits on.
Should I buy just a dozen old legendary skins, or should I buy up hundreds of voicelines and sprays, that way I get more dupes there and will get additional lootboxes sooner.
It doesn’t matter, there’s so much more filler now. Name cards, souvenirs and other stuff.
It took around 60k to buy out all legendaries and epics released since OW2. I believe it’d take around 20k to buy all whites. There’s not much use in buying out blues since only one dupe per box matters and whites are easier and cheaper o exhaust

Yeah, I know a lot of people dog on them, but some voice lines or sprays are really satisfying, either by themselves or with a good emote.

I think it’s a good idea, I’d even go one step further and throw Comp Points to increase my odds.
