[Spectrum] High ping issues 02/16

Hey! So my ping is usually a solid 80-84. Because of the router an modem boxes…Anyway…My ping in a matter of hours jumped and is now holding at 125-130 and holding. I have tried the troubleshooters and it’s not fixing the issue…What happened? Could someone help me fix the issue. Oh btw I am on wireless…ethernet doesn’t make a difference…maybe by 1-3 ping lower…

Hello, I’ve also been experiencing double my normal ping for the past 24-48 hours. I live in Ohio and normally have a 40 ping. My ping now is around 80 with spikes around 115. This issue is isolated to Overwatch.

Edit 2/17/19 - Definitely an OW issue. I have an extremely low ping (12) in CSGO servers. I’ll have a 70 ping if I’m connecting to a Southwestern US CSGO server.

Edit 2/21/19 - using a VPN worked for a few days and now my ping is back up to the 70ms range. So much for that idea.

Edit 2/22/19 - seems to be fixed this morning. Back to having around a 40ms ping.

Eastern Maine Spectrum customer.
I have been having this issue as well, and I’ve just filed a ticket.
THIS IS NOT DUE TO BEING PLACED ON THE WRONG SERVER AS FAR AS I CAN TELL. Every time I checked, I was on ord1 which I believe is what I’m normally on.
My latency usually hovers right around 60, but has firmly been in the 110-120 range the past few days.

Also, added: my ping on WoW is also through the roof.

NY Spectrum customer having the same issues. 3 games in a row now connecting to LAX1 with 100+ ping. Normally in the 40-50s.

I am also a NY spectrum customer having the same issue. Latency use to be in the low 40s now its sitting in the 90’s

Hey there friends,

We have reported this up to be looked in to for our east coast customers.

Right now, we think it may just be Spectrum users. If you have this latency increase, please post back with a WinMTR and Looking glass report. These will help us get this fixed or inform who is needed as quickly as possible.

I also am having the same problems. I am a spectrum user in North Carolina. I will most those reports if I have to but Id rather not.

Hi i was just in a live chat with a wonderful blizzard employee. i am under the impression that spectrum is struggling a bit. my ping was never too great @ 65-70 but i am spoiled now 95-100 is just unplayable for me. Please help haha

NY Spectrum user here having the same issue for 2 days. My ping is usually around 45-50ms and now its around 100-110ms.

I spent all day yesterday trying to troubleshoot this issue with no prevail. I restarted everything i could… pc/router… ip refresh… dns flush… nothing…

I put in tickets to Blizz and they looked at all my info and basically said its spectrum’s fault.

In a way I’m glad this thread was made because now i know its not just me lmao

I’m sorry, but I have a hard time believing this is all on Spectrum…
(and I have had a LOT of woes with Spectrum.)
That being said, has anyone called Spectrum?

I feel like if i do ill get the whole “yeah there is an issue and it will be fixed asap”.

Not sure if i want to sit on hold with terrible 80’s workout music for 45 mins just to hear that.
