It’s been bothering me for the longest time. I don’t know, maybe I’m just not getting the reason behind it or I’m not seeing their point of view, but how come we can’t spectate competitive matches?
There are so many times where I don’t really feel like playing but I wanted to watch my friends play. I don’t understand why we don’t have that option.
Can anyone explain this to me? If you agree with me then lets try getting the Dev’s attention.
Yeah, the only thing easier than using competitive spectate to ghost would be implementing a time-delay, just like every other f*cking competitive game.
I would like to be able to record my comp games then play them back in a spectator mode so I could view enemy players and teammates. This would allow easy knowledge if someone was throwing, and would allow me to spectate each enemy I fry as roadhog or junkrat in slow motion. Lmao
“ennemy team” is relative to whoever you’re watching… So if you have friends in both team you can watch whoever.
And what would solve the problem is just adding a time delay like in every other game
It sounds like you’re thinking of the delayed recording as a video file, but that’s not how it would work. Similar to how highlights are recorded, you would record game events so that the game engine would just run that data as if it were a live game. There is no fixed point in this scenario, the engine has all the events for every object recorded and then recreates the scene.
Can someone please tell me why after I joined a competative group and started the match, I see on the screen “XXXX has joined spectators” ? That person was none of the people in the match and how were they able to do that ?
I ask because I’d love to watch competitive matches for fun.
