I really wish we could spectate our friend’s competitive matches! I know it may be a problem if the spectator start to call out the game, but a solution would be watching it with delay.

They have said that people could watch the other team and provide info and stuff (cheating/ghosting) but all they need to do is make it so you can only spectate the side of your friend. Its not like this is difficult since spectating is already in the game. The only issue is if you have friends on both side of the game, but the odds on that are too low. I agree I want this and its stupid its not in the game since it would be so easy to implement.
I would love a spectate mode, maybe with a delay like suggested, or with voice chat turned off so the spectator can’t make calls to give the team an advantage, etc. I would love to watch the games of my friends who are in higher ranks so I could learn from them and become better myself.
Conversely, I have friends that are hard stuck in silver and bronze, so I could spectate them and take notes to help them improve over several games without them having to PS4 record a vod each time.
Why would the solution be watching with delay? Just make spectators unable to use chat and be locked into spectating the person they chose.
That way you can right click somebody on your comp game and spec them but not give away any unfair tips to their team or the other team.
Edit: I’ve even suggest turning off the whisper function during it, you can still have an unfair advantage if you have a friend messaging you things you didn’t see. If people really want to make calls their friend missed they can go in a Discord server or something.
I totally agree this would be a nice add to competitive

It would still be a huge unfair advantage in comp even if the spectator could only see one side. The current spectator mode gives you access of the whole teams POV and the ability to look around or behind players. Good luck flanking or sniping a player with eyes in the back of there head.
You can already do it in team deathmatch, but at least you’re on the team. The ability to have an extra person who doesn’t have to worry about dying or killing anything providing info is broken.
Also for whoever is getting PS4 VODS, you should be able to spectate comp matches using the playstation share, or whatever it’s called.
I’d love replay systems like Heroes of the Storm and Starcraft: 2, where you can download people’s replays, plus the auto camera and the birdseye-view camera from OWL would be amazing.
I think that Blizzard can easily let us only can watching the views of your friends，and can’t watch other people. With delays, I don’t think it will cause any negative impact on the competitive.
