Specs for good FPS?

I’m wondering what are specs I should be looking for for a laptop to consistently be between 100-120 FPS on medium settings (75% 1080p) res scale.

What processor, gpu, and ram would be needed to get that. I’m not crazy into tech stuff so I have absolutely no idea.

A Technical Support Forum MVP has set up a guide for specs, tips and all that kind of stuff.
Might be of help.
It’s not completely focussed on laptops though it might be of use to you.

75% res scale of what? 720p? 1080p? 4K?

Sorry. 1080p. I’ll edit that

Well for starters I would search for laptop with 144 Hz refresh rate.

I’m sure someone else who plays on an actual laptop can provide some more specific specs, but I suspect you could probably hit that framerate on pretty mid range hardware. I suspect pretty much any newer laptop with a discrete GPU can handle that.

As WiseWolf says, you’ll ideally want a gaming laptop that has a high refresh rate panel or youre likely going to lose a lot of value.

Don’t forget about the cpu.
Most can’t be overclocked nor replaced in a laptop, so if you want consistently high framerates even on 1080p try to figure out beforehand which will be the bottleneck, the cpu or gpu.

Had a laptop with a 1070 but my cpu was simply not keeping up.

Does it have to be a laptop?

Yeah. I move around a lot

Overwatch is actually a really optimized game, so you don’t necessarily need to look into anything too crazy. I have little experience with Laptops but I do know that some lower tier Ryzen PC’s can give you more than 100fps
