Frankly I do not see why there should not be a specialist class in OW, which would be the best category for those “situational” characters. or at least to justify their original identity rather than using rework to “make them equal to their role-mates”
I propose for this category: Symmetra, Sombra, Junkrat, Mei, Bastion, Pharah … and maybe Widowmaker?
What is their speciality? Killing things?
Those titles are useless. They are basically just to guide new players.
looks if your not doing good dps with your dps, then go practice.
Not to mention they pretty much merged two separate classes.

I think this would overly complicate an otherwise simple system and direct people to a specific impression they should have about the game. This is why the defense category was removed, it made players, especially new ones, think that there was a disadvantage to playing those heroes on offense, or that a “proper” team should have both an offense and defense hero.
Regardless of what a hero may or may not specialize in, you can pretty safely use the existing categories to describe it. If a character’s specialty is killing things with a turret, or killing things with a sniper rifle, well that’s just killing things, they’re just good at killing. You could arguably include anyone into the “specialist” class based on what we’ve defined so far, if you’re willing to stretch out what “specialist” means. Is Mercy a pocketing specialist? Is Rein a shield specialist?
Their original identity was a problem; there’s no room for a specialist in a 6v6. Might work in a 7v7, but unfortunately we don’t have that.
It seems people just prefer straight up eliminations over maybe slowing down an enemy.
And i would like heroes I don’t like to be thrown in this category and Nerfed accordingly.
No thanks, don’t include my sombra and widowmaker in this.
HotS is getting rid of the Specialist class because it simply doesn’t work–and there’s actually things for the specialists to do in that game.
