Sound sensitivity issue

I want to adress one thing, that bothers me for a long time. There are certain sounds in this game, that “hurt” people, who are sound sensitive. I know, “don´t play the game with this issues” I get it. But if MCree´s whistling voice line was removed for this reason, than why there is still that nasty sound, when you get nade from enemy Ana? I don´t think I am the only one, who´s anxiety and migrains get triggered by that high pitch ringing sound. Very high pitch sounds can be a real problem for many people, you just can´t control it. We have colorblind mode, we have option to lower volume or lightning effects - that´s all nice, but If there is any chance to change that sound, I would be so, so happy. Thank you.

This is a really good idea. I’m not sure why this hasn’t been implemented yet.

I’m also very sensitive to higher pitched noises and they cause me to be uncomfortable. I hope they do add some sort of feature that allows players to choose if they want some pitches/frequences to be slightly lower.

Dunmo how sensitive you have to be for that.

Normally my pc at 100% level is loud enough to damage hearing.
Overwatch though, I literally playing at 100% level and its not loud enough.

Also never heard mccree whistling sound? Whats that?

I think that people, who have not expirience this issues will never understand that, no point to explain.

a “low pass filter”-like controllable slider would be the best of both worlds. The engineers at blizzard surely can put an equalizing solution so the people that don’t have a problem with it can keep their experience, while others can attenuate the higher frequency sounds.

Having said that, there are software solutions that allow you to equalize your output.

Equalizer APO:

This would not only help you with this game, but every game.

I used it to fine tune the bass of my headset, but it could be used to prevent higher frequencies from having gain.

It’s a bit of a pain to configure at the beginning, due to reboots, etc. But believe me when I say you could literally mitigate these issues for all games and get a good experience everytime.

its a bit of a surprise how bad the sound settings actually are in overwatch when they have added both colorblind mode and subtitles. you would think that if they care about their colorblind players they would also care about the sound sensitive players. but when it comes to sound its more like they go for a “the more the merrier” kind of approach. cant believe there is still no option to turn off voice line spam. the game is very cluttered when it comes to both visual effects and sound.
