It is not fixed
Is it still delayed or is it just muffled?
Non existent
- Is your Windows Updated to the latest version?
- Have you tried updating your sound drivers?
Uptodate
Sound drivers reinstalled
So no sound at all? Hmmm… Interesting this sounds completely like a different audio issue, could you please take this to #technical-support so they can diagnose the issue?
This might be caused by something on your side.
Do so by editing this topic and changing the post destination to #technical-support.
Done
I’ve had problems with footstep sounds not playing on and off for a long time but it’s been particularly bad since latest patch (Roadhogs and Reapers walking up behind me and just nothing). It’s has been hard to troubleshoot this before because I’d hear footsteps but only when there are no other soundcues (like gunfire), but now they don’t play even if there is nothing else. Friendly footsteps do play. What do?
The problems I experience:
- Enemies in the back aren’t making any noises.
- Sounds indicate wrong position e.g.: Zen shooting me from the front but it sounds like he is shooting from the back
- Enemies really muffled
- no ult cues from my and the enemy team
- sfx (like venom mine) sounds like a teammate got hit not you
- no hit sfx (when I got hit)
Windows up to date
Sound driver up to date (reinstalled)
Sound settings back to default
Everything else up to date
OW deleted, reinstalled still soundbugs
BUMP
I have this problem in every match and I can’t play properly. I die to stuff I shouldn’t die, make false decision of false information the sound delivers
Hey there,
Before we get too deep into this, lets check some settings to ensure they’re disabled:
- Spatial Sound
- Dolby Atmos for headphones (in-game settings menu for sound)
- Limit Client Send Rate (in-game settings for gameplay)
- Limit Server Send Rate (in-game settings for gameplay)
If your computer has any third party audio manager software (realtek, sonic studio, nahimic, alienware sound, etc) I might suggest checking the audio settings in there as well. For example if this is a 3.5mm jack audio device you may unplug it then plug it back in to receive the audio assignment prompt. Alternatively if this is a USB device those programs would not apply and you would need to check configurations in the device software.
Let us know if these instructions help!
I have USB soundcard and onbaord.
Onboard everything is fine
USB soundcard: Sound completly bugged and my system goes async with the server (not high latency, lag is caused by the system not ping. Hero positions suddenly skipping in game, like correcting the position, jumping 1/2 ahead and so on). These started to appear and have been getting worse over the last couple of patches. Maybe worth looking into?
Could be overheating, or something siphoning system resources.
Unlikely everything is in the parameters
GPU 53°C (126°F)
CPU 54°C (127°F)
Stable +120FPS
AMD Ryzen 5 1600
GTX 960
Mainboard Strix B350-F Gaming
All background applications (which could drain) are closed, CPU usage fine
Can you post some screenshots of the hwmonitor on Imgur and give links here? And also possibly post a dxdiag here?
DxDiag instructions (click to expand/collapse)
- Press Windows Key + R, then type DxDiag and press Enter.
- In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.
- Name the file “dxdiag” and click Save.
To add it to your reply here:
- Open the text file and copy all of the text.
- Paste the text in your reply.
- Highlight the pasted text and click </> on the post editor.
If your DxDiag does not fit in one message, you can post it on Pastebin.com and provide the hash code (the numbers/letters after the .com) in your reply.
HWMonitor also looks for temperature spikes and shows the low and high values, whereas this is only showing your current average. Just thinking we might spot some temp spikes if you’re having 1-2 second delays. That, or one of your hard drives is on its way out.
How were the temps of your hard drives and GPU? Good also?
Edit: Missed the link for dxdiag.
Everything is normal
