Ever since the last Overwatch update my sound for Overwatch is very quiet. I am using the Razer Kraken 7.1 v2 and I never had issues before. Even with volume set to 100 in Overwatch and Windows 10 settings, the sounds is very quiet.
Edit: This happened after a Overwatch update and Windows 10 update. So, I can’t tell which one caused the issue. But, this sound issue is isolated just to Overwatch, I don’t have and sound issues with any other application or video game

What do you mean by " quiet " ? I have a problem with the song too, I don’t hear when I hit someone or if I do a headshot. I don’t hear the ult of Reaper, Doomfist, hanzo. When I take a heal pack, I don’t have the little song. And the animation of the Tracer’s recall is a little bit buged. And since the last update.
Having this issue as well, might be the windows 10 update that is the cause, not sure how to solve it as well
So happy it’s just not me, this happened after a patch to windows 10 and overwatch on the same day. So I can’t tell which one caused it. I only have this sound issue with Overwatch. All other applications, the volume works fine, but as soon as I switch to Overwatch the sound, sounds muffed. There is not a huge difference in volume increase starting from 60 to 90.
Same here, everything else is at the same volume except Overwatch
Yeah I just updated windows 10 and now my audio is weird too. Ugh.
So i tried launching Sea of Thieves with the headphones, it turns out that there’s the same problem as well. Highly likely its the windows 10 update
Same problem after Windows Update. Waiting for patch, i guess.
Update your drivers for it.
Which drivers? Everything is updated.
The weird audio issues are kind of a big problem because sometimes they make it impossible to hear ult callouts. I hope someone finds a fix or workaround soon cuz I don’t want to play comp until this is fixed.
Edit: I think my problem might be slightly different than OP’s too. It’s getting muffled at random times during gameplay, it’s not always muffled.
Edit again: I think I figured it out, anything that’s behind me is super muffled, anything in front sounds normal.
Be sure not to be using surround sound as it would be able to cause this problem.
My surround sound is off and the problem still persists though, doubt its surround sound but it could be for someone else
I checked and all my settings are what they should be. It’s only Overwatch having the issue.
Reinstalling my audio drivers (as in uninstalling them and letting Windows 10 reinstall them) seems to have helped? I’ll have to play more to know for sure.
Edit: Reinstalling the sound driver fixed my issue.
Having this exact problem as well.
Hey guys,
Could I have you check your spatial audio settings for me? Right click your volume icon in your system tray, then the middle option for “Spatial Sound”. Check and see if it’s turned off or using Windows Sonic or another similar spatial system.
Mine is turned off. Should it be using the windows sonic?
I’m having this exact same problem, also started recently. Chrome / YouTube works fine but Overwatch is kind of quiet / muffled / has no low end even with everything at 100.
Windows sonic is turned off for me.
