Soujorn is broken

Maybe it’s because she’s new, but every match when the other team have a soujorn who can barely aim she does a mess. High damage, snare, mobility, all great I love and approve.
But her energy ball snare is not fun to play against. It does a lot of damage and have a big area, it’s IF area or even bigger.

Seriously, her snare with ana nade/ashe bomb is just unplayable. Just make the area smaller and it’ll be fine.

Yes she’s broken and stupidly OP, so yet another Blizzard released hero into the Overwatch pool that doesn’t seem to have been properly tested

I honestly think shes worse the brig release.

I wouldn’t claim that she’s broken or stupidly OP, I would claim that she just needs some tuning. Ya’ll are making it sound as if she was as bad as release/launch Brigitte lmao.

She was op in alpha, weak in most of last beta, and near the end she was buffed to her current state. Clearly they are making changes to try and get her into a good state. Haven’t played this beta, but at the end of last she didn’t seem too strong, maybe people got better since then.

She has three issues:

  1. She gets railgun’s burst damage way more often than comparable damage characters with similar burst damage.
  2. Her slow field is hard too see if you’re in the field and it’s often hard to note you are taking damage.
  3. Her ult voiceline is very quiet and subdued, making it hard to pick out and known when she is extra dangerous.

Or are they testing other things and collating the information…

  1. Hanzo gets it much, much faster than Sojourn (Edit, I’m not talking about storm arrows, I’m talking about his primary fire which is comparable to a sojourn railgun shot)
  2. Subjective of course, but the sound and the bright blue doesn’t make it too hard to see. The damage of the field is too high and I think that needs to be tuned down a tad
  3. I’ve not had this problem, although I have had it with other characters. A friendly genji has bladed right next to me and I’ve not heard it

I think she needs tuning down but not by too much. A small damage decrease on the disruptor field, and potentially a smaller hitbox on the railgun

Pretty sure storm arrows are on an 10 second cooldown. I’m a bad shot and I can charge railgun to full power in under 4 seconds. People with decent aim can do it much faster.

Fan the bow is also a problem, but the cooldown on it is significantly longer than Sojourn’s railgun. It takes just about one clip to fully charge it, and then you can chunk like 60% of JQ’s HP with a headshot–she does way more damage than 76 or Bastion, while staying mobile and having a good trash damage/snare effect.

If they wanted to tone her down but keep the charge ratio the same, just lower her ROF. Why does she have like, Sombra ROF when 76 doesn’t?

Sojourn that’s over-tuned right now vs S76 prior to his damage nerf. I wonder who would come out on top in terms of pick rates?

She was overtuned in the first beta, people just refused to believe it.

yeah nothing strong about a dps with extreme vertical and horizontal movement with rapid acceleration, mini blizzard and more one shots

I feel like theres no point in the railgun if she does stupid dmg and her projectiles are practically hitscan if that makes sense

Feed from a tank, then discharge on a squishy . Stupid tbh.

Weird, I just came from 6 games with a co-Sojourn and lost every one of them.

Incidentally, we also had Supports not healing, either. And the enemy team didn’t have a Sojourn in most of them (nor was the enemy Sojourn in those games, performing exceptionally.)

Mostly anecdotal; but Soldier is still performing better than Sojourn in most of the games, I play in.

How did she get a crowd control snare when everyone else had CC removed? Hmmmmmm
