Sorry, I can't tolerate this game anymore

I sincerely will never understand how people are happy about Horizon and Paris being removed from quick play. How did we get to the point were people see developers removing content, and they’re happy about it? We’re in negatives in terms of content now. No heroes, no maps, few cosmetics, and now we’re happy that we’ve lost something? What level of abusive relationships is this player base at now?

I don’t even have the will to argue. Its clear that, by the end of it, Overwatch is going to be gone. Instead replaced by some generic FPS where you run around in some unchallenging and innoffensive map against the same characters over and over again. Maybe its my fault for sticking on for so long, though all the terrible design choices, and what not.

I only got into this game on a free weekend. I played as Bastion, I enjoyed how unique each character was (emphasis on was), and it made me feel like this was the most important FPS ever.

Now, damage is over valued, no one likes tanky tanks WHILE THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT DAMAGE BEING TOO HIGH (put 2 and 2 together for one moment). Healing is too high WHILE PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE DAMAGE, THINK ABOUT IT. And people clap their hands at getting things taken from them.

Like many of you, I want off this ride. Unlike most of you, I know how to step off.

Tell us in all the honest, did you play on Horizon or Paris as of recent times?

You wait 15 mins to get into match, Paris/HLC loads and players literally abandon the match. Then you back into queue menu again

Actually, yeah. Like most people Paris was a really common map for me.

Unlike most people, I liked Paris. I also liked a balanced game, but I see I’m part of a dying breed here.

I’m aware a ton of Overwatch players are awful, entitled people. Its the reason we’re up this creek now.

Removing content most people don’t like is a net positive. Like if there was a way to choose what map you get then removing maps would suck, but there isn’t and you’re forced to play what you get. Because of that it’s just better to get rid of those maps entirely.

The developers themselves said that the maps were literally imbalanced… remember how they said they were still working on a paris rework and a horizon rework before their complete switch to OW2?

So many resources were poured into imbalanced maps that everyone leaves…

Wasting a token to get into a 1 sided horizon game that several people leave is… a waste of time.

Because its bad content. Im gonna celebrate when they remove the content that gave cassidy 25hp and bouncing storm arrows

If you really love those maps so much, they’re still in custom games. But so many people leave Paris as soon as they join it, it’s almost impossible to start an actual 6v6 on that map. The gameplay experience was terrible, and the maps (and the mode as a whole) are frustrating as hell to play on.

Its never a positive thing to validate players who don’t like the tiniest pit of conflict. Overwatch has been at its worst due to this exact strategy, and we all can see it.

Ah, I see. Makes sense to remove them, give no content to overwatch, take a sledgehammer to several characters, leave other characters wildly broken, make changes aimed at competitive play effect the entire game, blatantly ignore your eyes when you see things like the “tanks” being unable to tank, and much more dumb choices.

Yep. I understand now. The devs knows what’s best.

I hope you enjoy the compensation buffs the devs give them. You know by “Compensation buffs” I mean “they’ll raise their damage even more”.

Name three people who uses the custom games. You mean, I’ll have to start a custom game and then wait for people to join just to play two maps? What are these solutions?

Counter argument

Literally no one ever wants to play on them anyway so who cares

I was able to find plenty of good matchs in quick play. I might even have them recorded on that auto record thing Overatch does. You might mean “no one wants to play them IN COMP”.

SO, if no one wants to play them IN COMP, why must I lose maps I do want to play IN QUICK PLAY? What do you expect me to say to that?

Just cause you got a few good matches doesn’t mean the maps don’t suck for everyone else

To be honest I think this is the best Overwatch has been gameplay wise since Brigs release. Ball Brig Zen is a way more fun meta than goats or double shield was. People already left cause of those awful metas and the abandoning of the game so the damage is done. If you took this exact version of Overwatch and threw it back to 2019 I think people would love it.

who uses customs…literally anyone who has played in a scrim

i mean i can see why they removed them if they looked at the internal data and saw SOOO MANY LEAVERS and of course the forums would always complain about them 24/7. so i can see why they went ahead and pulled the trigger…

your right about that tho. wish we could get something in return or a update/comment about reworking paris and horizon into something better either for pvp or maybe some future pve map. losing content does suck lol

Yeah, I get where you’re coming from.

Personally, as I’ve said before, I think when OW2 fully launches, I’m going to the PvE side of things. As it stands, Apex has already taken over as my main PvP game, since May of 2020. And, my hopes for OW PvE is it won’t be shackled with the same issues that plague PvP.

Oh, people don’t like 2CP? Fine. Repurpose those maps to run PvE game modes (as demonstrated in some of the BlizzCon presentations). Oh, Mass Rez Mercy or Scatter Arrow Hanzo is “unfun” to play against? Make those abilities into Talents for Heroes in PvE. The AI isn’t going to complain about “balence” or whine that something is “OP”. And, best of all, how much “fun” I’m allowed to have won’t be determined by less than 1% of the playerbase, in order to keep the eSports cash cow going.

Obviously, I don’t think the PvE will be perfect. This is Overwatch and Blizzard after all. I’m sure mistakes will be made. But, I’ll tell you, from where I’m sitting, that side of the game’s future looks a lot brighter and more exciting and fun than PvP does.

What’s wrong? Do the Blizzard boots not taste good anymore to you? I guess after 6.6K post here defending everything else they have done the taste would get a bit stale.

A lot of people saying they DO suck doesn’t make it a fact.

Let me ask you, are you really satisfied with Blizzard’s balancing choices? Are you satisfied with how they’ve updated Overwatch? You’re satisfied that now, on top of all of that, they’ve taken content from you?

Which maps are next? Illios because of that pit? Junker Town? Havana? Hanamura? We’re going to have Kings Row 24/7, paper thin tanks unless you run double shields, and DPS that can cut through the moon from their spawn with ease? That’s Overwatch?

Soldier over tuned.

McCree over tuned.

Hanzo.

Tanks have to be played very specifically, that usually means Double shield, RoadHog, or everyone pocketing Reinhardt. Healers have to heal a lot or they don’t matter, and this is the best Overwatch has been to you?

Aren’t “scrims” those things Overwatch teams do? I’ve only heard of this word in reference to teams playing against each other. So, to play Paris, I’ll need to practice on a game that I hate now, join up with a team or create it my self, and play at a competitive or near competitive level?

Would you believe that I don’t want to do this?

Who, me? i’ve been one of the most vocal critics of Blizzard and Overwatch’s balance. I’ve gone on record saying that what they did to the tanks was actually stupid. I’ve never licked blizzard’s boots.

Devs admitted the Horizon rework was still a flop, and they gave up reworking it and Paris as well as changing OW2 maps that were supposed to be 2CP. It’s not just that people complained, it’s an admission of failure from the devs. They could not find a way to really, actually fix the flaws with 2CP and so they moved on. I think it’s a good thing they stopped sinking time and resources into something people inherently didn’t like.

Removing content shouldn’t be ideal but when the players and devs are vocally dissatisfied with it, it’s probably best to let it go. Now we get less games plagued with infinite leavers and we know the devs are listening to the community at least right now as the hype builds and they’re ready to show more off. Players should be happy right now.

1.If the vocal majority agrees with it being removed that should say something

2.What does the balancing gotta do with said map being aids to play

  1. They sucked.
  2. There is no 2…

There’s your comprehensive explanation. Thanks
