I just find it a bit odd how Torb does and Symm doesn’t, they’re both close ranged heros which would make sense for them both to have 250 hp? Symms biggest problem is that shes squishy, she doesn’t have any reliable way to escape combat. Yes she has tp but that takes a while to place where as Torb can boost himself with speed and hp. Considering Torb can be more ranged than Symm it’s odd how shes not given 250 hp.
What? You think sym should be 250hp?
She’s 100 shields on a permanent basis.
Torb has: a joke of a crit hitbox.
Torbjörn also has a much larger hit and crit box.
His hitbox is huge. Sym’s is not.
Honestly all the projectile classes should have 250 hp except Hanzo. In the current state of the game they just aren’t good enough compared to hitscan and 250hp would allow clunkier classes to be competitive and give them time for their shots to land instead of hitscan winning because their gun is instantaneous
No. You think you’ll have fun playing against a 250hp genji/phara/junk?
I… don’t understand why these two attributes are compared. Shield health is not very useful, it’s in fact more of a burden since it just means EMP can uniquely wash it away. There’s rarely many times when shield health gets a substantial chance to fully regenerate.
Even with a rougher hitbox, I think it’s fairly safe to say that Torb has better survivability than Sym. The only tool Sym has for herself for surviving encounters via not-killing-everyone means is her Teleporter, which isn’t exactly the best tool in this regard. Torb now has more health, natural armor, plus Overload – an ability that boosts his health, movement speed, and attack power, all the things one would want for survival.
Admittedly I do think it’s odd that Torb would be given this while Sym goes untouched. They’re very similar, but Torb has superior ranges to work with, plus better survival tools. Sym has some wider turret coverage and more lethal potential, but, not much else. With Sym still looking to under perform, I’m just surprised they haven’t tried bumping her health up just a little, unless that really would just wreck the lower ranks.
hp os goven more based on hitbox than role.
torb has a massive hitbox and a joke of a crit box.
Plus he’s round, so he soaks more bullets than other characters.
plus, in a way, it’s a nerf to clutch overload as you get less armor when low on health.
Well, you can find it odd. But given she’s a dps hero who can do a lot of damage plus bringing utility, making her 250hp won’t be fun to play against.
Torb doesn’t bring any kind of utility.
If you want go put that argument, remember this: orisa has an immovable shield with a critbox of size of moon and 400hp.
Yep! Although I probably wouldn’t give it to genji either. He’s got high mobility and defensive abilities. GOATS is a direct response to the 2 sniper meta that came after widow and hanzo got buffed to the point of being dominating so if they finally fix goats then we’ll be back to that and the way to counter that is to make it take slightly longer for widow to charge a headshot on the slow and clunky characters and for hanzo to need to hit someone more than once. Most other characters the 50hp won’t be that noticeable because its just an extra 3 soldier bullets or 1 more melee or w/e
Well, goats aren’t going anywhere until 2-3 months at least. The problem is, if goats go away, bunker will return which is more unfun to play.
Junkrat would be really good at breaking up bunkers if they hadn’t made his aiming so crazy bad P or if Pharah still had her good kit before that silly rework.
Could go away now if they’d actually nerf people instead of all this small stuff. The game needs a comprehensive rebalance
Well, Blizzard’s solution right now: instead of taking a look at why, they released another strong aoe healer. Baptiste isn’t broken as he brings a ton of healing. If I were to break the meta, I’d go and rework brig to an offtank.
Played few matches on ptr. Was doing 16k/10 min healing with Baptiste. So the damage buff most characters got isn’t massive when he hits comp. Devs just want to make him popular that’s all.
Torb is a thicc boi. Symm is skinner than a stick.
deepest loooreee
If HP was given based on hitbox, Doomfist would have 400 and McCree 250 also. Regardless, 250 hp is not the change Symm needs and would hardly make her any more viable.
As someone who recently decided to be a Sym main for seemingly no reason…
I’d be fine if she got an HP bump, but I’m pretty sure nobody else would be. Yeah, she’s squishy, but she’s also small, and if your tracking is decent that beam charges up quick and melts people. I’d win so many more 1v1’s if I had an extra 50HP on her, because that extra shot it takes means her beam can actually get to level 3 against other DPS.
Torb is as big as a truck though, he really needed it.
What? Auto Regen Health is not useful because 1 rarely picked character’s ult can “wash it away” Alright ALRIGHT.
I laughed at that particular post actually…
Uhg I hate these hitbox arguments. Symm used to be able to achieve 275 hp while having her personal barrier and a superior primary fire. Torb did need this buff and he plays sooo much better with it. But I think symm needed it too. Her primary fire buff would have been big if we can actually use it.
