Sometimes, when you hit a directional key, it can remain as “pressed” even though you’re not pressing it, therefore moving you into that direction unless you counterstrafe by pressing the opposite key, in which case you stay in place. This gets fixed by touching that key again,

Have you tried enabling High Precision Mouse Input?

It has been observed that enabling this option should fix this issue.
