Something ChipSa said about the Widow nerfs

So we know how much ChipSa hates widow right? Well in the latest Noobhunter video, he stated that he actually did not like the Widow nerfs. Reasoning is that she shouldn’t have her strengths nerfed; rather her weaknesses need to be shown better. For example, instead of giving Widow falloff damage, she should have 150 hp instead. Thoughts?

Buffs?

Also, yes i main Doom too and i also agree with Chipsa, a Sniper hero shouldn’t have to worry about fall off damage, this is not the right way to nerf her.

Sorry i meant nerfs lmao

Agreed. I think Blizz knew this to an extent too, as the falloff they gave her doesn’t take affect for a long distance.

I would much prefer to give Widow reverse falloff starting at 5-10m instead of 150 HP.

Or how about instead of fall off damage or 150hp we just make her sniper deal less damage to opponents closer to her and reduce SMG spread by like 10%?

Omg this is exactly what I was thinking. I wanted to make a thread about it.

I’d like to make it so that if Widowmaker takes damage or goes under say 175 hp she cant use her grapple. It would make the escape part of her kit skill based as she would have to be extremely quick

Something such as “when Widow takes damage her grapple goes on cooldown for 2 seconds”

Or are you meaning something else?

Yea like that

Sounds interesting. Certainly a better thing to test on experimental than her falloff change.

yea anything would be better i haven’t seen 1 shot hit out of range an i have been playing exclusively experimental

Disagree. Usually if you get close enough to widow she is dead.

The problem is getting close enough to her as she can stay so far back and kill.

This wouldn’t really do anything as she’s already weak to people close to her and solves no actual problems about her kit.

I prefer grapple not being usable in combat/nerfing grapple.

why do we listen to that guy

She just presses shift, launches herself to space and she has distance and a free chance at headshotting you.

They actually do make her weaknesses a little more apparent. Making it so she can only be at a certain range to get her max value makes it so she can be reached more easily on certain maps. You could argue that isn’t significant enough, but I don’t think she has enough mobility/survivability for 150 health.

Debatable on what you used to make her grapple or if you stayed on high ground after she went to low ground.

The nerf should be progressive starting from 40 mt onwards really. Then it would definitely be noticed.
