Could someone explain to me why Junkrat is even in this game? You do nothing but spam behind walls and hope for kills. He wins 75% of 1v1s because of his mines, which he never needed 2 of.
I looked up the best Junkrat players stats, PVP, and wasn’t surprised to find out his avg. accuracy is 22%. Does someone who can only play Junkrat, and only has 22% accuracy, deserve their rank at all?
The second they play someone who requires aim they struggle, and often lose. So, why is Junkrat a thing?
They wanted to make a character based on Pat Sajak.
I don’t think accuracy is a big thing with Junkrat. He presents complete area denial. Good luck going top on point B Hanamura with a junk spamming the hallway. He is a threat, and he is very good at it.
Are you aware they just made his projectile 33% smaller? Or is this another “I dont care about logic or reasoning, I am mad and dont want a solution” thread?
This is purely speculation; however, they introduced Junkrat and Roadhog at the same time. I believe, they intended for him to hook targets into traps and they would be a heavy cc/heavy damage duo intended to clear points (especially with their ultimates). That is just my guess based on early designs as a lot of characters lore gives them synergy in game, such as Winston/Tracer, Ana/Pharah, or most recently, Brigitte/Rein. I am not asserting that it was their sole intention or anything to that effect, but it is probably something they thought of in the same way that Orisa counters Doomfist.
That being said, with time and moving away from that, he clearly turned more into the de facto burst DPS character. As for your question, that is precisely why. They wanted a high damage character that did not require aim, for DPS players with other skill-sets.
Honestly, they have been nerfing him in such a way that he requires more precision as is which has made him much more fun to play as and against, if you ask me. But he is always going to be that no-aim burst character.
Are you another one of those guys, who mains the hero I complain about and then targets threads complaining about your hero and gives no evidence to support that he isn’t broken…?

I have 6 hours on Junkrat, and every game I play with him is boring. There is nothing fun about spamming bombs and praying for kills.

I am a Junk main. While I respect your opinion, you wrote it a little hostile. So I am not sure what kind of responses you are looking to receive.
Aiming as Junk can be incredibly hard. Grenades arc and shooting a hero that has higher ground requires expert aiming. So I am not sure where the misconception that he does not require aim comes from.
Accuracy percentage is non-detrimental to Junkrat’s plays as his grenades enable area-denial. And area-denial is what a Defender is supposed to be good at. He has traps, grenades, mines and a scary ult.
He has been nerfed repeatedly so I advise to wait it out a bit and see how that plays out.
Half of the time Junkrat is spamming shots at enemies he can’t see of course players are going to have low accuracy with him. He puts pressure on enemies trying to hide in tight spaces and spams down choke points. Yeah his grenades do a good amount of damage but they’re really easy to avoid and unless you’re getting up close and personal with him he’s pretty vulnerable because of how hard it is to hit a specific target.
Junkrats spam areas just to see if anyone is even there. Playing junkrat for accuracy is throwing.
