Don’t get me wrong, I’m super excited for the chaos. However I have a concern. Like for example, I think Torb’s proposed perks are pretty balanced. Ana getting her own nano boost though? That feels excessive.
On the other end, Sombra’s perks feel… off.
Virus cooldown reduction, fine. Healing passive trigger on teleport automatically, sure. But her supposed level two, game changing passives?
Healing an ally by 100hp on hack, and ability lockout doubling (from 1 to 2 seconds) feels… weak by comparison.
Meanwhile, Tracer’s over there getting all her blinks back on a recall? It just feels like they’re afraid to give Sombra specifically anything substantial like they’re giving everyone else.
You mean they’ll rotate the usual chosen handful of heroes in and out of S/A tier while leaving everything else in the dirt. As they’ve done for years.
The healing would make sense on a Mirrorwatch kit or even her OW1 versions but it’s a weird match with current Sombra. Makes me think they’re maybe toying with a Support move? But it’s still a strange way to go about things.
Just imagine Ana gets those massive perk buffs and Hog and Mauga get nothing in their perks to counter nade/sleep, like the CC reduction passive. They’ll be even more unplayable into Ana than they are already.
Ana will probably get a CD reduction perk as well just to rub it in.
perks will never be balanced. the same way that talents in heroes of the storm where never balanced. items in league are not balanced. and thinking those systems should be balanced is entirely missing the point. overwatch 2 didnt disappoint because it was unbalanced. it disappointed because it was growing old and stale. because we have seen it all a thousand times.
Ana getting her own nano when she nanos someone else is pretty good. Torb getting his old ult every time he clicks overload? Don’t sleep on that, it’s kinda nuts
If they only make Ana to be a nail that sticks out, then there’s a (ban)hammer to hit it on the head. The issue is that there are a lot of classic “allowed/expected/required to be good” heroes that get strong perks, so that might not be enough.
I dont think the point they were trying to make is “balanced” in the sense everyone is an equal power level, just that some heroes definitely got way better perks than others.
Torb literally gets his old ultimate each time he hits E, meanwhile sombra gets a super minor buff to hack with a compensation nerf.
It could be pretty strong. I actually think her hacking allies would be huge because it’s like adding a 3rd healer.
Junkrat has it the worst, though. So much of his just comes with gnarly drawbacks. And then you have Sojourn and Hazard who are #1 right now and they just get powerful net-buffs.
yeah… like, ana getting crit dmg so she can 2 shot 225hp targets, vs mercy getting a 15s cd that forces her rez to also be on cd… or if rez is on cd you cant use the flash heal…
