Some other things you can spend $40 or less on:

2 months of game pass

They can definately spend it on whatever they want. They should at least consider what’s better for them, though, as accepting Blizzard’s absurd prices is what keeps them so darn high.

Thank god everyone has you here to tell them the best way to spend their money.

You’re welcome. That’s what the forums are for, giving opinions on things.

People act like me giving an opinion on what’s more worth $40 is like me removing the ā€˜Buy’ button from Battle.net. The only people who I prevent from buying skins are those who are convinced by my argument.

Keep in mind too that this is directed at Blizzard as much as it is the playerbase. It is absurd that skin prices can rival that of some AAA Games, and Blizzard should know that.

bros never played valorant, or looked at the steam market

Their skins are overpriced too, then.

yea they are. 40 dollars gets you like ONE knife skin.

I saw some Valorant skins that were priced at >$100. It’s absurd how high companies price their cosmetics.

yeah every bundle is like 74 bucks. and sometimes they throw like an oden skin in there… nobody uses that gun

Ya its the overwatch form thats why we are talking about how insane 40$ for a skin is you can literally get games for the price

A decent meal out with your partner also a better use of a couple of $20s

Value is subjective.

The bundle to me is well worth the price as I get two great skins for my mains (normally a potential $20 a piece deal), an additional epic skin, 20bp tiers (what is that $20?) and $20 in coins plus the BP?

Like what is that $100 I would spend on things individually in this title for $40? It’s a good thing this is on Steam now, I didn’t invest in CS skins for show (hey look another example of value subjectivity).

The games you advertise don’t even interest me, outside of the doom games (and the ones I already own) so it’s not like I’m gonna spend $40 on a Sonic game I’ll never play, but I will put $40 into a game I will play.

yes it is subjective but their is an objective reality and… their is a certain level of insanity that comes from someone saying 2 skins + some coins is equal to 40$

sure a billionaire could say ā€œthis skin is easily worth 10,000$ to meā€ but that doesnt mean its actually worth 10,000$

the objective reality is, any thing that has no resell value (legally) is worth exactly 0 dollars.

you might be ok spending however much for the skins and thats great for you but that doesnt mean the bundle is actually worth that.

we all spend way to much for things we care about but that doesnt mean we didnt get scammed in the process lol

Halls of torment is probably the best 5 dollars anyone could ever spend.

ā€˜A fool and their money are soon parted.’

It’s a saying for a reason, just like ā€˜you cannot reason with a stupid person’ is another.

Spend your money on what you want, but don’t act like this about it… OP is at least making a point.

HAHA lol generic whataboutism talking point.

They are all stupidly priced, this doesn’t make the point you all think it does.

Why do you care how other people spend their money?

It’s kind of presumptuous of you to tell people how to value their money. If people wanted to spend money/play any of those games, they would. If they enjoy Overwatch and enjoy the cosmetics and want to spend their own hard earned money that you had no role in providing for them, then they should be allowed to do so without pretentious busybodies like yourself trying to shame them for it.

In defense of Onyo, I don’t think they were arguing against me. I think they were just expanding the discussion.

It’s all over twitter if anyone mentions OW cosmetics they just start talking about other games awful practices like ow is suddenly good, or okay.

I don’t personally, i know something like 70% (i forget the consumer study) of people are bred to give money and that it…

If a post like this can even just get 5 people to turn and look at something less predatory, they have a chance to make another think about it.

We sat around and made this point for almost 15 years now and the next generation is normalized to this… they think this is good and normal in gaming… they don’t even question it once…

i care more about what is the next cash grab to normalize…

How was what I said shaming anyone? I’m not insulting those who do buy skins. I’m just prompting them to reconsider less predatory options.

Also, I care because overpriced cosmetics have become the norm, and I would like to see the prices fall to a more reasonable level. (Not the same price as some AAA games.) This is also directed at Blizzard themselves, who think that this practice is fine.

Once again, my post doesn’t hurt anyone by just sitting here. If someone wants to buy a skin, they’ll buy a skin. The worst this post will do is convince someone to spend their money on other things than overpriced cosmetics.

Personally I like when they pay these outrageous prices then a month to a year later blizzard offers it for free or regular credits.

That’s a nice Ow 2 launch bundle skin you dropped cash on. I got it for the expensive price of nothing with credits from Ow 1.
