Overwatch’s best feature is it’s lore and we need more of that. Here’s some interactions between characters that I would like to see. A majority of these will be Reaper related because that’s who I find the most interesting (duh).
1.) Reaper and Ashe
These two have a link to each other, since Reaper was the one who dismantled the deadlock gang. They also seem to hold the same opinions about Cass.
2.) Reaper and Genji
They were on blackwatch together, yet the have 0 interactions with each other. A bit weird.
3.) Ball and Juno
Ball was created and essentially tortured by Lijiang Interstellar, so I’m curious what he thinks about Juno and the mars colony.
4.) Reaper and Ramattra
Both have a twisted sense of justice, so I feel like they would get along well.
5.) Reaper and Pharah
Reaper was practically Pharah’s uncle, since she was raised around Overwatch agents. I’m curious what they think of each other now.
6.) Reaper and Tracer
These two were the literal poster children of OW1. It’s really weird that they don’t have any interactions together.
7.) Reaper and Lucio
I wanna know what Reaper’s favorite animal is. My guess is barn owl, for obvious reasons.
8.) Ramattra and Junker Queen (maybe they already do in open queue, but I haven’t heard any)
JQ fought huge demonic omnics in the wastelands so I wonder what she thinks of Ramattra.
9.) Hanzo and Soldier 76
Overwatch took down the shimada clan and they have similar vibes to them. Curious what they would talk about.
Can’t think of anymore atm. Curious what other people want to see.
I really wanna see more widow/reaper and mercy lines because a redemption arc for widow and him is something I would love to see at some point.
In general I wish we got more voice interactions but it feels like its a roadblock for them, we aren’t getting anything story related so why put voicelines that hint at that in the first place? It sucks because the best we are gonna get is marvel level quips and really dumb banter. When Ram came out I was really expecting a line about widow literally murdering his mentor but nothing was mentioned. They have a lot of potential to how characters feel towards each other but that will hint at a story progression which we are never getting.
Same. I personally think that Reaper has some ulterior plans, since his whole reason for betraying Overwatch was because he didn’t think they were doing what was necessary in order to bring justice to criminals. It doesn’t really make sense that he would suddenly feel a-okay with working side by side with them.
As for Widowmaker, it seems that the brainwashing done on her isn’t as permanent as Moira and Talon thought it would be. It seems to be slowly slipping away with a lot of her interactions.
I have never heard of that interaction before and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I’m curious what they talked about.
Oh that one. I thought I was like an in-game interaction about cake. I agree, that one does a really good job at illustrating the characters in a way that isn’t just caricaturizing.
Somethin about OW1’s dialogue felt more nuanced and real, especially in comparison to OW2’s slop.
