Some ideas for new perks ٩(ˊᗜˋ )و

In this post I’m going to try and come up with some new major perks for every character. Please don’t think of these as replacements for what’s currently there but more so as potential additions for what could come later on.

Disclaimer: This is mostly for fun, but I am trying to keep the perks relatively realistic, so the changes won’t be anything too major. (Also, I’m too lazy to try and come up with creative names for every perk so some of them might be lame or not there lol.)

Of course, feel free to share your own ideas; even if it’s completely outrageous, I find this stuff fun.

ASHE
Blistering Kiss: Ashe loses her dynamite but in return, she receives incendiary rounds on her primary.

BASTION
Landmines: Bastion loses his A-3D tactical grenade in exchange for six rechargeable landmines.

CASSIDY
Crack shot: Cassidy loses 50% of his ammo for 100% more effective range with his primary fire.

ECHO
Administering Beam: Echo’s focusing beam is now on a resource meter.

GENJI
Dragons roar: All damage taken by Genji’s deflect is thrown back at enemies in one singular burst after deflecting ends. (Damage is scaled with the amount that is absorbed and is capped after a specific amount is reached)

HANZO
Dragon’s teeth: Hanzo’s sonar arrow is replaced by an arrow that snares enemies in a specific radius.

JUNKRAT
Cluster-struck: Junkrat’s primary fire projectiles now work as cluster grenades, splitting into smaller projectiles.

MEI
Glacial barrage: Mei’s secondary fire is replaced by a fully automatic volley of small frozen projectiles.

PHARAH
Heat seeker: Pharah’s concussive blast is replaced by a destroyable heat-seeking rocket that tracks enemies.

REAPER
Stygian Sting: Reaper’s wraith form now leaves behind a trail of darkness that damages enemies.

SOJOURN
Dispersion: Disrupter shot no longer deals damage but instead launches enemies away in all directions.

SOLDIER 76
(NA): Soldiers Helix rockets can now be charged up to deal significantly more damage but each individual rocket now branches off with distance traveled.

SOMBRA

Data theft: Sombra’s hack no longer CCs enemies but instead increases their cooldowns by 30% and decreases her cooldowns by 30%.

SYMMETRA
(NA) Sym’s turrets are 50% bigger but she now can deploy them above herself as shoulder turrets.

TORBJORN
Ol-shooty 9000: Torb’s turret now works as a sniper turret but loses 50% of its durability.

TRACER
Ray-gun: Tracers pulse pistols no longer shoot out in a barrage but instead shoot out in singular short ranged beams that focus into a point.

VENTURE
Mud-sling: After emerging from the burrow, Venture now puts mud blobs on the ground that can slow enemies.

WIDOWMAKER
Malevolent kiss: Widomaker loses venom mine but instead gains the ability to inflict poison upon enemies with her primary fire.

ANA
(Na): Ana 's sleep dart no longer sleeps enemies and is now a tool that can be used to mitigate incoming damage on herself or her allies for a short duration.

BAPTISTE
Combative Medic: (You can only choose one.)

Primary fire damage: Baptiste’s primary fire no longer shoots in a burst but instead is fully automatic. (Damage would be scaled accordingly.)

Secondary fire healing: Baptiste’s secondary fire now shoots heals in a burst of three. (Healing would be scaled accordingly.)

BRIGITTE
(NA) Absorbing damage through Brig’s shield empowers Whipshot, which increases its damage and influences the potency of Inspire.

ILLARI
(NA) Illari’s primary and secondary fire are now switched, where the beam will now be doing the damage, and the shot will now be healing allies.

JUNO
Icarus: Juno’s flight height restrictions are now removed.

KIRIKO
Shimada’s wisdom: Kiriko’s Kunai are now thrown out in a fan of three.

LIFEWEAVER
Botanical bounce pad: Lifeweaver’s petal platform no longer raises and now works as a bounce pad.

LUCIO
Strivin and Vibin: The lower HP Lucio is, the more mobility and speed he gains.

MERCY

War doctor: Mercy’s caduceus blaster is now a hit-scan Magnum with an ammo reserve of three bullets. (Not going to go into specifics too much here but let’s just say it does 150 damage on a headshot with damage falloff and all that jazz.)

MOIRA

Biotic volition (You can only pick one)

Moira trades off her damage orb for a much higher healing output on her primary fire but the hitbox for said healing is much less forgiving.

Moira trades off her healing orb for the ability to crit and a much higher damage output on her secondary fire; however, the hitbox on her secondary fire is now much less forgiving.

ZENYATTA
Benevolence: Zenyatta loses his discord orb for the ability to heal his allies with his primary fire.

DOOMFIST
Confliction(Talk to the hand lol): Doom’s hand cannon no longer shoots out a short-range spread of projectiles and instead shoots out one singular powerful projectile attack.

D.VA
No fair: D.va’s fusion cannons no longer shoot in a short-range spread and instead shoot in a slow-firing singular hitscan pattern that deals significantly more damage.

JUNKER QUEEN
Perforation: Junker queens scattergun now pierces through enemies. Enemies receiving pierce damage take significantly less damage.

MAUGA
Spawn simulator: Mauga’s primary fire chaingun is now a fully automatic short-range shotgun.

ORISA
Radiation: When Orisa activates fortify, she emits a field of radiation around her that damages enemies within her surrounding area; however, while radiation is active, she can now receive critical damage.

RAMATTRA

Sentient Syphon: Enemies that are standing in front of Ram’s shield will have their health siphoned by nanobots. This health will be converted and collected into a healing pool behind Ram’s shield for him and his allies to utilize.

REINHARDT

Comet: Reinhardt can charge a massive singular fire strike by draining his shield energy to deal devastating damage in a large area.

ROADHOG

Trampoline: Roadhog’s pig pen no longer damages and CC’s enemies but instead can be used to boost himself up vertically.

SIGMA
Gravitic Grip: Kinetic grasp now pulls enemies towards him until the effect ceases.

WINSTON
Tesla Bubble: Winston’s bubble now shocks enemies within it, inflicting damage.

WRECKING BALL
Hostile Hamster: Hammond’s Adaptive Shield no longer can be given to allies and instead, Hammond can now expel all shield energy outward, dealing damage in a large AOE.

ZARYA
Bubble trouble: When particle barriers are destroyed, particle barriers are distributed to nearby allies. Effect cannot chain more than once.

Frag Launcher -
** Direct dmg does a lot of dmg. However it won’t bounce. Anyone that played Team Fortress 2 think of like loch-n-load.

** Can now stick to enemies.

** Detonate projectiles with secondary fire. (April 1, 2024 April fool patch)

Steel trap -

** three traps. (April 1, 2021 April fool patch)

Concussion Mine -

** Mine can stick to allies & enemies.

  • Removed. Replaced with dispenser. Every few secs the machine now gives armor packs, jet boots, ult charges for 2%

I came up with a few for Reaper, but they’re kind of random and I’m not the best at discerning which would be Major and which would be Minor.

Reaper:

  • Berserker’s Frenzy: Replaces Wraith form with a tangible form that instead reduces 60% damage received and provides a boost in Reaper’s damage output.
  • Smokescreen: Reaper’s right click tosses out a smoke grenade the blocks vision in a medium sized area. Enemies caught within the smoke are revealed to Reaper (like sonic arrow).
  • Grenade Launcher: Reaper’s right click provides a high speed projectile that explodes on contact (an alternative to his hitscan right click perk that’s more lore accurate).
  • Looming Shadow: Reaper now has the option to deploy a decoy Wraith that travels in a straight line and stuns enemies who shoot it. (This is to bait out CC for DB and/or use as a distraction to TP unnoticed).
  • Stalker: All of Reaper’s footsteps and audio queues from abilities are now silent (because y’know… he’s made of mist).
  • Death’s Dance: Wraith Form is upgraded into a quick dash that provides brief intangibility and resets upon killing an enemy.

I’m not a Junkrat player but his perks look so lame to me. I feel like they could have done something more spectacular with the guy who’s on fire and exploding than bear trap can be thrown one inch further and mine is less responsive but more powerful.

  • Air shots with the Frag Launcher now count as crits.
  • While flying through the air after launching himself with a mine, Junkrat becomes a shooting star that ignites any enemies he passes through or near. Upon landing, his impact causes an explosion.
  • Using the second mine to rocket jump as well as the first results in a dramatic increase in distance and speed during flight.
  • Bear Trap is replaced with a Molotov Cocktail.
  • Bear Trap is replaced with Bottle Rockets. Bottle Rockets are deployed like a trap. Pressing RMB (maybe? Not sure of the ideal mechanism here) causes the Bottle Rockets to launch rockets that home in on enemies in sight of the construct that are above a certain height. Targets hit are afflicted by a “Grounded” debuff and unable to jump or fly for X seconds.
  • It’s Alive!: Riptire replaced with Junkenhog. Junkenhog is substantially tougher than a Riptire. Junkenhog lumbers forward of his own accord in a manner similar to B.O.B. and explodes after a time. Junkrat can boop Junkenhog with mines. Junkrat can manually explode Junkenhog by pressing Q again.
  • Russian Dolls: A Riptire that’s shot down spawns a smaller, faster, weaker Riptire. If this Riptire is shot down too, it in turn spawns an even smaller, faster, weaker Riptire.
