The damage from shurikens might seem insignificant but it changes breakpoints for some combos, for instance a full right click + melee wouldn’t kill a 200 HP target before, it does now. The full combo of crit right click + dash + melee also kills a 250 target now which it didn’t before.

I like the idea behind the buffs he got but the only thing that kept Genji in the game was his ult unfortunately he is a worse character with it nerfed. Theres no reason to pick him over an echo who could probably do way more in a fight.

his pickrate is already back down to before the buff in gm. people tried him out on patch and realized, hey this character still sucks.

The reality is this as as good as he’s going to get. I am not necros to where I’m the number one genji on the planet but I play a lot of him. I respect the fact that instead of overbuffing heroes only to nerf them into the ground like they usually do they gave us the exact changes we asked for. They gave us our fire rate back and gave us 29 damage. We didn’t ask for 30 we wanted 29 damage and they gave us exactly that, something that blizzard normally doesn’t do. This makes his fan melee 203 damage, which is again why we asked for it. Again I respect the dev team this time because they gave us exactly what we asked for while not breaking him

Winston is countered by genji right now and Moira can’t do anything against him.

It was possible to 1v1 Winston before the buff. Winston is not countered by him, but he doesn’t hard counter genji. Moira doesn’t hard counter genji anymore, which again is fine. If you want rock paper scissors hard counters then this game isn’t for you

You do not get to hard counter high skill characters like its rock paper scissors. We’ve very clearly moved away from that, brig doesn’t counter tracer like that anymore and moira doesn’t counter genjj like that anymore and they’re not going to change that
That is totally false i main winston my main account with 4.2K. I used to COUNTER genji all time and im talking about GM-GENJIS.
The reason why they reverted the Fire-rate back on the past was because he was countering his COUNTERS and now they gave him the fire rate back. Now he can COUNTER any tank not only winston he is a dam tank buster
Unless they give winston 10 DPS extra vs “Mobile characters” like sombra, genji, doomfist, tracer, mercy, pharah, echo. Winston is more obsolete than never

Shadder2k himself said it was possible to 1v1 Winston’s in 2018 which it always was. Landing headshots on him isn’t overly hard and right now genji can fight back, again how it should be. Again you aren’t going to rock paper scissors high skill heroes, balance patches have shown that they have no problem buffing heroes to allow them to fight thier hard counters.

It made him worse in low ranks but it also made him noticeably better in high ranks. Which is how a high skill ceiling hero should be. He got a number of very important breakpoint buffs and his nerf only applies to a handful of heroes that he had a disadvantage against to begin with. So players that could use his kit got rewarded for the change and blade-bots got punished.
