Sombra The GOAT

Sombra is the most important character in the Overwatch story, change my mind. She has connections to everyone and every big group in the Overwatch universe. She can get anything she wants due to her hacking and blackmail. I hope as the story goes on, they lean more into her and how powerful she is. She’s everywhere too. The Venture comic. The Mauga cinematic. The Soldier 76 short story. Besides whoever is behind the secret conspiracy she stumbled upon, she remains on top of the world.

honestly i wish they got to a specific point in her gathering information and connections. i don’t know how to explain it but… she’s just too present without really concluding anything. :sweat_smile: I can give you some examples of how many times sombra actually achieved something and when she didn’t.

  1. 2016 ARG: This was actually a series of character teasers that didn’t go as well as Blizzard wanted, but it’s still an investigative part that eventually led to results against Portero in Mexico.

  2. LumériCo Power Plant Overload: This is a “second part” of Sombra’s ARG, which seems to have had results on the next mission in Russia with Talon, as well as the Los Muertos revolution in Dorado;

  3. Volskaya Industries: Sombra actually got a useful connection with Katya, and she can always be useful. But then…

  4. Search Comic: She is simply spotted by Zarya and they exchange information that Katya is hiding something. This point will never be explored in depth by Zarya and her relationship with the Russian military (not even in New Blood). While Sombra is still at large;

  5. Hero of Numbani: she tampers with Numbani’s robots, probably to help Doomfist. but nothing more;

  6. Code of Violence: flashback moment, she helps reaper to free dr de Kuiper, but gets some unspecified info;

  7. Short Story of Baptiste: she has ties with baptiste to find information on the location of Overwatch agents (presumably mercy and then Cassidy)

  8. A great Day: after the mission in gothebourg, Sombra helps the Talon to recover a core of the flying shuttle of sector Zero with mauga and Reaper, and what will he have discovered? we don’t know;

  9. The adventures of Venture: sombra makes a possible bond with venture in search of unspecified artifacts. but in the meantime “remember me at the right time :smirk:” and leaves;

  10. Ascendant: Sombra actually returns to talk about the conspiracy, and involves soldier 76 for the beginning of the search for mysterious artifacts;

well, at this point I can simply say that the only two times in which Sombra has concluded something understandable or serious is the attack against Portero in collaboration with Los Murtos, having the affiliation of Katya (a powerful woman anyway) and Ascendant. for everything else she has always appeared in a… quite casual way.

and I’m getting tired of this lack of precise objectives not only for her, but also for the lore :slightly_frowning_face:. what does archaeology have to do with it? why does she analyze the technology of the Null Sector? and what was she looking for in the center where Sigma was locked up? there are so many questions, interesting… but they are too long in silence of answers. that’s why I enjoyed Ascendant more, because she finally returns to talk about more specific and direct things about her mission.

but… now I want to continue the search for what she was looking for.
