So just played 14 matches, 10 of those matches had an enemy Sombra, not all had a Sombra at start but as soon as our widow or enemy widow made a kill → Direct Sombra pick.
This character should go back to the drawing board, she makes the current state of the game HORRIBLE.

If there’s a Widow in the match, I don’t feel bad
It’s just so cringe that as soon as it’s a widow vs widow and 1 dies from a nice shot → It’s Sombra time
Same here for doomfist, or any other tanks I play, but most often doomfist.
Ended up going to open queue and was having a blast because sombra hardly shows up. Losses didn’t feel so bad.
To be fair, that is driven by Widow’s kit as much as it is driven by Sombra’s one.

This is the core problem. Blizz built a mini-game, a game within Overwatch, that’s only for Sombra.
And the feedback loop for playing her is often, I’d argue typically, more rewarding than playing the actual team game. Especially this ftp uber casual 5v5 death match version where teamwork isn’t a thing, like at all, for 99.9% of us.
Widow is problematic which has led to sombra everywhere. Both heroes are a problem. Widow needs to be countered and is really only countered by a better widow or sombra on some maps where she is out of range of dive heroes.
Take sombra away and every 2nd topic on here will be about widow dominating.

Same as doom and ball. One team fight and I have to play against Sombra forcing me to swap or I get the dreaded, Tank can you switch? from my teammates.

Basically if you roll out on any mobility tank or dps, or zen/Juno etc… Instant sombra swap. Doesn’t mean they’re necessarily good at sombra, but my god there are a lot of people who just auto swap to her at the slightest chance of the idea of hard-shutting down an enemy at the skill floor.
At least hunting them down systematically on Tracer gives some mind occupation until Team 4 figures out what to do with their game in a way that doesn’t involve shooting themselves in the foot… -_-
pretty much the only excuse tbh. still no need for a hero to be invisible and that silences heroes abilities, it is just terrible design IN AN ABILITY BASED GAME!
