I want to fully agree but I have to question it, too.
It didn’t cancel scatter arrow before it was removed, nor does it cancel Sonic Arrow. I’m not sure I feel totally comfortable if it would just cancel it entirely since there’s no consistency with how it interacts with other parts of his kit. But I’m totally open to being persuaded.
I think storm bow is more in the category of like rein’s charge while the other two are more just kinds of arrows rather than an ability that hanzo is using. Like it’s not like hes easy to hack when he’s using storm bow, so to interrupt such a speedy ability should be incentivized imo
Actually, now that you mention it, he can’t even cancel it like he can with other arrows.

I have the sneaking suspicion that Blizz classes Sonic Arrow and Storm Arrows as “transformations” in the same sense as Visor and Primal Rage

Well that’s silly. What’s he transforming into? If moira’s Ult is a channeled ability, then storm arrow surely is

Stuns don’t stop it and it’s not a movement passive therefore it shouldn’t or it would be inconsistent.
Moira loses full control of the rest of her kit, Hanzo can use everything he normally could his primary fire is just swapped out like all other transformations.
So really it falls under the definition Tac Visor does.

How about no. That doesn’t make any sense either. Stuns can’t stop any transformations and I described above why it is a transformation compared to Tac Visor and contrasted to Moira’s ult.

How is hanzo’s legendary transformation from dude with a bow to “dude with a slightly shinier bow” bigger than that.
If he turned into a tank or an angry monkey or…a dude with a visor…then you’d have a point.

So basically make it work like Sombra’s abilities. I like it. If only because that would make more people understand the many frustrations of playing Sombra.

Only death cancels transformation abilitys and ults. That’s how OW works. However a nerf to it would be nice.

It’s an active ability you’re taking the name too seriously. It locks him out of using his recon gun and movement, that’s 2 things he can’t use anymore. Thus, it is considered a channel type ability. He can use some of his kit, but not all of it (like moving) like channel type abilities. Also if I was given the choice I prefer it the way it is because nearly 5 seconds of being unable to move or heal would be 100% death all the time.
because he can use all of his kit but his primary, it’s different from sentry because he can still move and everything.
Why isn’t it like those? He turns it on and it lasts 6 seconds or until you use 6 shots and changes his primary. That’s what Soldier’s ult does minus the ammo capacity ending the duration.
It has a duration and it modifies/replaces his primary so what’s the difference?
In all honesty? Those are ultimate abilities. So the inconsistency in terms of “transformation abilities that are on a cd and not an ultimate ability that is uncancelable” is just storm bow. So he’s an exception. An inconsistency
Genji can still dash when he’s deflecting, there’s a duration on it, and yet I can hack him out of that. Sure he can’t use his primary, but Hanzo is arguably using a different weapon anyway.
Storm arrow is a transformation ultimate, so it doesn’t get countered by stuns like that.
It doesn’t give him a new primary, he just doesn’t have one at all. That’s a channel considering he can cancel it with dash compared to a normal ability or a transformation.
I already said it gives you a new or improved primary if it takes it away it stops being a transformation.
