On another note, I main support, but when I do play dps I usually enjoy Sombra. I’ve seen the gleeful hatred that people have for her in the forums and I can promise you one thing…these nerfs will just make me Sombra all the harder.
She will have the potential to do a lot more, but she’ll actually take skill now. You can’t just stand still invis for 20 seconds waiting for the perfect time to attack.
Even on paper the changes does not look all that great, but yeah I agree. The true Sombra’s main will learn and adapt and cause more havoc. I can not wait to get my hands on these changes and at least try them out.
I bet support players will still hate Sombra, maybe even more. Especially Sombra players who also play support, because these types of Sombra will know exactly when and where to act.
As someone who plays both I find these changes fair.
Sombra almost never killed me, but it was never fun to be constantly annoyed by a Sombra who only focuses on support but you never/rarely have the ability to actually fight back with that instant invisibility. And when you recovered and are back in position she is already back.
Now there is skill, positioning and timing involved to actually reach me and successfully get away before getting gunned or smacked down by me and my fellow support.
Also no more sombra spawn camping. Another plus for people who play slow movement heroes.
20% more damage is scary. Go invis to engage, engage at the end of the invis timer, get the kill in two seconds and translocate out. Good sombras will be able to repeat that cycle from the backline
