Brigitte was introduced to counter Dive, but instead ended up countering almost everyone.
Sombra counters GOATS quite a lot, she is the reason OWL isn’t a complete GOATS disaster, but again she ends up countering pretty much everyone else as well. Even heroes like McCree, Soldier: 76 and Widowmaker, who rely mostly on shooting, are affected.
I appreciate Blizzard’s effort to make her viable, but ever since her power has slowly crept up, until this point in time where she is a monster. She can now deny all the healthpacks quickly and proceed to use Hack on the enemy. 6 seconds is an eternity in this game and thus getting Hacked is a death sentence. EMP is uncounterable and if your team is even slightly aware, it almost always leads to a clean up.
Currently I tolerate her presence because she is the lesser of two evils, the other being GOATS comp. Nevertheless, once the latter is dealt with, Sombra should really be looked at, because her current power is only surpassed by immediate post-rework Mercy and launch Brigitte. Possibly reduce the duration of hack to 4 seconds or something else, whatever the developers deem sufficient.

I think you’re missing a VERY important thing here: the order of events. Sombra’s already in the game for over 2 years. Ever since her rework (which happened quite a bit before GOATS was even a thing) she hasn’t been notably buffed. Not to mention she’s been considered so underpowered for pretty much her whole existence that it was pretty much a meme.
Yeah, no. If both are of similar skill regarding aim, the Mccree and Soldier will win pretty much every time. Widow’s only being countered by Sombra because she can get close to her easily and, well, every hero counters Widow in close combat.
Of course Sombra is strong now. The only thing people are capable of doing nowadays is curling up in a ball behind a mountain of shields whilst solely playing heroes that are incredibly ability reliant.

Good laugh, thanks. Have you seen post-rework Mercy pickrates? They were bordering 100% matches on both sides. Almost all tiers across the boards. Winrate near 50%, but only because she was on both teams most of the times.
What Sombra, such mighty and powerful, has? Trash winrate across the board. Average winrate on GM level. Negative winrate in OWL season 2. Pickrates? Vary from 1 to 3% tops.

Sombra is nowhere near as successful as Brigitte on ladder as well as in OWL. She is nowhere near as easy to play. And she is nowhere near to counter everyone. If you claim stuff like that, chances are you dont play her.

She’s really not. The only reason lower ranks think she’s bad is because lower ranks stuggle to get team coordination and to push in at the same time. Instead everyone trickles in one by one.
Sombra relies on follow up, emp and hack do nothing on there own. By require someone to actually acknowledge what Sombra does.
Also, people who play Sombra in lower ranks try to flank, hacking people in the back line and go on solo missions. Where she looks rather weak. But as soon as people realise you can hack the main tank Rine, and he loses his sheild and can do litterally nothing at all and allowing your team for any easier push. Thats where she looks powerful.
So in short, Sombra is one of the best hero’s in the game. You either just in the wrong rank to use her or you use her incorrectly. Which is what Jeff actually said when she first game out. People thought she was weak as they tired to play her like Tracer. And he said actually people haven’t figured out how to properly use her yet.

Sombra wasn’t meta changing out of the gate like Brigitte was.
Sombra didn’t get a plethora of nerfs because she was overperforming against everyone else.
She excels against Goats because she can capitize on them being grouped. Against dive she’d be pounced on and forced to retreat making the fight a 5v6 otherwise she’s dead.
Lastly she provides utility and info gathering over damage. Doesn’t matter if Sombra gets a 6 man emp if her team doesn’t follow up and retreats.

Sombra’s stats are subpar even in GM and that’s despite the current meta suiting her perfectly since she is very strong against all of the GOATS heroes.

This has got to be the worst exaggeration yet. And her power hasn’t “crept up”. She’s been pretty much the same for a long time now. You people are just straight up lying at this point.

Stats have never been her strong point. She puts out little damage, little healing, little damage. And therfore not the funniest of hero’s to play.
She isn’t, why did this get 9 likes?
Edit: I’m going to bet at least 5-6 of the 9 likes were Sombra mains, they liked a post telling them that their main is trash and it isn’t even true! 
Sombra is bad dude. She sets up nice plays and nice team fights, but she doesn’t win matches at any level.
Just play aggressive, capitalise on the 6v5s, don’t let her set up. That’s how they beat her in OWL; and beat her they do more often than not.

Sombra can also punish agressive play, and works well with building EMP off it.
OK now this is to much how can you compare a character that need to know when and how and who to hack and require a followup as she does with the emp… and also need some aim and tracking skills…
with a hero that is literally a left click spam with a cc every 7 sec…
