Right now itâs really easy for Hack to bug out and disconnect for seemingly no reason at all. The way they used to smooth out these random disconnects is making it so that the hack maintains connection 0.1 seconds after broken.
However this created the problem where someone could duck behind a wall at 0.55sec and still get hacked by the 0.65sec hack. A problem.
Devs fixed this problem by removing the 0.1sec disconnect grace period. But now the hack disconnects randomly and feels super buggy.
So here's the easy fix:
Hack
- Maintains connection for 0.1sec after being broken by obstacles/distance.
- However this effect stops 0.1sec before the hack completes at 0.55sec.
That way enemies get the full 0.65sec to hide behind a wall/shield or get beyond Sombraâs hack range.
But for the first 0.55sec, Sombraâs get the benefit of a hack thatâs much less likely to bug out randomly.

This isnât a solid fix, it would just allow Sombras to repeatedly peak again and the bugs would still occur during the last 0.1 seconds.
Itâs not perfect agreed. But it would solve the vast majority of the problems. By blocking block glitches for 85% of the hack time.
If the peeking is too much, they could probably cut it to 0.05sec, and have it cover 92% of the hack time.
Added bonus, it would also make it easier to track blinking Tracers with it. Which was something I remember you wanted.

Problem: This would require Blizzard to [partly] revert a change and Blizzard donât do dat.

I think you can sell them in the âthis would be extremely simple to codeâ angle.
Since itâs more of a bug issue, than a balance issue.
They need to do something with hack⊠they probably need to add back the gracing period 0.1 second.

Would probably take the devs about 5 minutes to code this in, and instantly fix 85% of the glitches
They have reverted some changes. It doesnât happen often but they even did one with Sombra recently in case you forgot.
