In the past Sombra was a good counter for some hero’s and could be countered by a bunch of hero’s.
Who does Sombra counter now with her current build?
Same people she always did(everyone).
Hack wasn’t removed, her approach was changed.

I used Sombra last night to reduce enemy tanks to underperforming meat shields while they were being focus fired. She still makes Ball, DF, and DVA far less dive-friendly.

Yea I wonder if tanks are going to suffer since Sombra might have a harder time pressuring backlines

The non-barrier tanks are the ones most vulnerable to Sombra’s hack, especially those that rely on hypermobility for survival.

What DPS does she counter? All anyone says is tank.
Maybe Widow, if she’s bad and positions poorly. Other than that, none.
With oppertuntist back Sombra is now an anti-tank unit again.
Opportunist is damage RECEIVED by Sombra is increased, not that sombras outgoing damage is increased.
This means it directly subtracts from enemy’s damage reduction debuffs.
So if doomfist block is 80%, it will only be 60% against Sombra.
Example:
100 damage vs 80% = 20 damage taken.
100 damage vs 80% with opportunist (-20%)= 40 damage taken. (Double)
100 damage + 20% mercy damage boost vs 80% = 24 damage.
She now soft counters ram, orisa, hog.
And hard counter muaga, doomfist.
She’s also an amazing linebacker, providing anti-flank potential against your supports, but not as strong as with permanent stealth.
Sombra counters her own team. Once she is in a team = autoloss.
Pharah, Echo, basically a literal pain for flyers.
works with every hero if the player is bad.
or in your case, not cheating.
She doesn’t counter jack squat now.

Sombra’s rework was always a pretty solid defensive pick (Sombra 76), those changes really did solidify her in that role. Zen + Sombra can be really scary against the characters you mentioned.
Hack + discord makes for a 180 damage virus (90 dps) on it’s own.
In exchange, she lost a lot of flanking power, it’s much more map dependant now and riskier. (harder to play on perfect opportunities or wait a second for a target to use a cooldown)

My buddy joe can counter her but he isn’t in the game to let her play
Heroes with channeled/charged abilities.
People who don’t listen to sound cues.
People who never learned how to flank without invisibility.
