Sombra Changes are a NERF!

So let me get this straight:

They remove the increase damage to hack targets (which personally i did not agree with anyway, as it would always make her overpowered)

And now must use a SEPERATE ability to increase damage she originally already had, but its damage over time…

She loses OPPORTUNIST (it seems) one of her most important abilties.

and Hack is even now more useless if they keep the duration on it as is?

It’s going to take even more time to use two abilities, to do the same ORIGINAL damage she did before ow2. Plus, does she have to come out of Stealth to use Virus?? (not confirmed yet) thats even worse!

Also seems LOSING control over when to translocate, and over stealth.

No, this is a NET nerf, and a change in the wrong direction.

So, shes almost like a glorified, but weaker version of s76 with similar abilties.

Yeah, I gotta say, I didn’t spend much time looking at the changes, but it looks like cloaking is never voluntary and all she has otherwise is a DoT fire strike wannabe that only hits one person.

I don’t like sombra in general, but that’s a pretty laughable change.

I think some kind of damage threshold needed to interrupt Hack would be cool; instead of having any damage at all interrupt it, lets say you need to do 30 damage to Sombra during her Hack cast time to interrupt it.

When you expect nothing and are still disappointed …

i don’t know i like them, that dot she gets sounds kind of neat

What about the severe translocator nerf?

Who care? The actual sombra is all about hardcounter x heros. Trash hero design.

I mean, I feel that, but not with this. I’m never disappointed by overwatch. :joy: It’s always funny to me.

a dot that can be healed thru, and lose Opportunist? Not even a fair trade by a long shot

I imagine they will buff her pistol to compensate for the increased damage on hacked targets.

Cause that gun is not threatening outside of hacked damage, I feel like they will compensate for that.

i doubt it. they want the lame virus ability to make up for it.

its lame because now she has to hack and virus a target, increasing the time to do both to deal damage, and losing Opportunist is also an indirect reduction to her lethality and and damage

We’ll see. They didn’t share any numbers, unfortunately. You could be right here. I’m hoping they have some foresight and compensated with the loss of opportunist with a better gun lol

i highly believe that her gun is gonna have an increase in damage to compensate. maybe back to 8, or maybe even 8.5

they could have built opportunist in completely silently if anything

Okay thats nice and all. so is she becoming an overglorified but weaker s76? Shes losing more identity as it is

You use the virus to do damage without having to commit to a fight, you use hack to make it do kinda crazy damage(probably) ahain without having to really commit given hack’s range.

At that point, you can use your gun to essentially guarentee a kill on a target who isn’t being supported. You will have to be careful though as you won’t have teleport or stealth on demand anymore. Even if you don’t commit with the gun, the enemy team will still have to spend attention and resources to make sure Sombra doesn’t sweep back for the cleanup since damage was being done at no risk to herself.

I can see it being a nerf, and that would be good if so because Sombra sucked to play against always. Mostly though it’s gonna be a shift in playstyle and how you have to approach certain fights.

id probably say a glorified tracer, but thats basically what shes always been referred to as xD

The rework is as I suspected: A bunch of buttons turned on and off at random to reach the same conclusion, only with extra steps and contradictions to their mission statement.

As someone who has been binge playing Sombra for a month now, this feels rubbish.

I sa s76, because her lame “virus” is like his rocket, sort of. but much weaker

How did it take them this long just to nerf everything about her and give a flimsy compensation ability? If by rework they meant “doesn’t work”, then yeah it’s perfect. Is she just, going to be the new Symmetra? I refuse to believe the same people who came up with this came up with the Orisa rework. It had to be different people. The people who made the Orisa rework must have left the company ages ago.

all virus is going to end up being is a way to “pad” her damage. Plus, does she have to come out of Stealth to use it?? thats even worse
